we have been told that if you are making multiple applications dont wait until you know if you have passed the first before applying for the next as they are running behind with the sifting.
We got an email further to this from our HRBP (btw if you don't yet work in DWP and do get one of these jobs prepare for acronyms!!) that said this was not the case. You will get a message if you do fail the test, but you will be kept waiting otherwise until after the 22nd!0 -
The % is a comparison against others who took the test.
Perhaps it is a % against those scores in the current exercise and thus people who took test early but got the majority of the questions right would end up with scores of 90-99%
Take the test later and the reliance becomes on raw scores as opposed to percentile?
Just my musings though............0 -
I am applying for another district. It would mean me moving back home but I thought I might as well try. If nothing else, re-doing the test will mean some practice for another time. My major downfall was the situational judgement part. Does anyone have any advice on how to better my last score? Is there a set format? Any help would be much appreciated!0

. Where it asks for employment history covering the last 3 years, I have been a SAHM since 2006, but have a full work history prior to this. Can anyone advise whether to just put 'not employed' for this period or whether I should refer to my earlier employment history (or is this seen as not understanding the question by recruiters).
Want to get this submitted today if poss so grateful for any advice.
As the interview process is competency based this has no bearing on your chances, the information is requested for purposes of seeing where your skills lie and in which job to post you (although I imagine in this case they will all be Personal Advisers as they are for posts in Jobcentres). I would tell the truth."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
I used to work as an AO for the jobcentre and was on the waiting list for an EO job that I successfully applied for, before everything went tits up (the waiting list got frozen, and all us poor !!!!!!s on fixed terms got told we wouldnt be getting renewed due to budget cuts), so I've applied for an EO job in South Wales region. Crossing fingers!0

I've been looking at the competencies for the past 2 days. I appear to have writers block! No idea where to start even though I know I have done many many things that cover each of the competencies having worked for DWP before on a FTA appointment, worked as an employment coach and advisor. I just can't get started! Has anyone else had this problem? How did you start?0

I'm in 2 minds as to what to do.
I'm an AO at HMRC and I've been there nearly 9 years, but due to my disablilty my attendance record isn't great (but I'm not on any kind of formal disciplinary/MPPA action), plus it's taken me 4 years to finally get our senior management at HMRC to understand about my disability and to get the appropriate adjustments put into place.
The JC is far closer to home and I'm slap bang in the middle of 2 within easy reach (Oldham and Rochdale both less than 5 miles away), and travelling is one of the main problems associated with my disability.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

I don't think there's any harm in applying whatsoever. However, there is no guarantee that you'll be placed in either of the JCs close to you as they may not require any staff so you might find yourself travelling further afield.0
