Goldie, as someone kindly pointed out to me the other day, the percentile score ranks you against "the others" that have taken the test - at that moment in time. So if 100 people had done the test, you did better than 48 of them (yay) but 51 of them did better than you (booo)

Thanks! 74% sounds less cr*p than I thought! 74% would be an A if I was sitting a normal exam! I know this means nothing in terms of DWP but it soothed my ego somewhat! Thank you!

we have been told that if you are making multiple applications dont wait until you know if you have passed the first before applying for the next as they are running behind with the sifting. Also if you apply for eg A,B and C and pass then the pass stands for all applications but if you fail A you can still do B if this is passed stands for C also etc. Dont wait for the result of the first app because it may not come until after the 22nd and you will be too late to apply for any of the others. Hope that made sense.

Sorry just had another thought about these percentiles. If you were to do the test on the first day and get a high percentile because you are compared against others who have done the test, would your percentile go down if you had the same score say today because you were being compared against more people? or am I being a bit thick? BTW hated the action planning stuff.:(

I don't know the definitive answer to that but I would say logically that your percentile performance would be based on the performance against others at the time you took your test so it could go up or down.

An extreme example would be let's say you were the 10th person to take your test and you score 13/24 and lets say 185/336 but the other two were lower than this. You would score 99/100% because you were ranked number 1 out of 10 even with a low score. If the next 10 then beat your score it would surely drop to about 50%

I would also like to know this if anyone knows. Also Mommarat, did your previous post refer to if you were applying for two different districts or two entirely different positions? I have applied for two different districts and on one, it still says 'Online test in progress'. Something is definitely wrong there...

I understand the reasons why the DWP did the test first (time) but I believe it would have been fairer if they had done the sift before the online test as many people who have spent a long time getting their competencies right wouldn't have wasted their time.

I also think the competency aspect is more important than the situational judgement part of the online test.

A lot of people with excellent competencies are not even going to be looked at.

If you apply to two different Job Applications for example if you wanted to apply to Birmingham and Solihull and also wanted to work in an area covered by the Warwickshire application dont wait till you know the result of the first before applying to the second because you may not get your results until after the 22nd which would make it too late to apply for another area. If you fail the first you can still sit the test for the second. If the job app is stating you can still sit the test then I would do it again just to make sure thats what I am going to do and try to better my score.

They are looking at doing it the other way round for the AO recruitment but it was too late to change for this one. Oh and I have found out that there wont be another test if we get to interview this is an error and they are looking at changing it. Had an email at work today, I think this was mentioned by someone yesterday on here. Sorry I am putting 2 posts I submit and then remember something.
