BTW I got 20/24 too and then 225/336
Not great...0 -
Looks like I'm out as well and I thought I'd done well.
what I don't understand, is how can you marked on a questions that are so subjective? If i marked a question +2 believing it to be a reasonably positive aaction, was I marked down a per cent because someone in a suit deemed it a +3?
I've recruited for years. This seems to be a bit of a nonsense to me
Think of these parts as a personality test.
I believe you don't get marked down for "wrong" answers but you don't as many score points unless you get the "right" answer and these are graded on a score of 1-7.
12 questions, 4 parts to each question, 7 options per question = 336
12x4x7=3360 -
Ok, I guess I understand...0

I submitted applications for 2 different districts and received 2 emails today - both for the same district [?!?]. Had a deadline of Friday to email back.
Anybody else had a similar email yet?
I had this happen yesterday but have had my others today0 -

So, ive spent the first week since these jobs come up working on my competencies, then ive done the online test, which I thought I did alright in, 19/24 and 219/336, 61%ile. Then I look on here and notice people with marginally better scores than I up in the 90%+! Oh dear people
Not happy that it may focus on the online test more than my really ace competencies
!
Hi "David", bit of advice for you; you've worked hard on your compentencies and that's good because they are a critical part of the CS, but you feel you haven't done so well on the 2nd part of the test. Perhaps (If you don't get an interview etc) you could look for some courses etc to help you out? I know in my part of the CS you can search for mentors and things like that to help you gain experience and knowledge that you perhaps wouldn't get chance to in your day to day job? A manager (or senior manager; as someone said some of the scenarios are above EO for sure) would be able to talk through some examples (it's a shame you can't have the test printed for this) of what is a negative and what is a positive action and why. They could perhaps set you some examples to have a go at etc, if there's one thing the CS is good at it's courses and training/dev opportunities. Seize the day!0 -
20 out of 24 is 83%
200 out of 336 is 59%
(If weighted proportionally this is 74% overall)
So well done on on the first part, second part not so hot but I wouldn't give up now.
If you didn't get a rejection email then you passed the minimum standard (but this doesn't mean that you won't get rejected before sifting).
As for the percentile its nothing to get hung up over as its a comparison to others, not how well you personally did in the test.
74%? Mine said I was in the 49th percentile. I didn't work it out properly at the time but did think this was a little low...0 -
On a side note aswell guys; the people posting scores like 90%+ aren't really that many in the grand scheme of things so don't let dishearten you. Just wait and see what happens, if you don't get an interview then at least you've had some useful practice in competence based applications and situational judgement exercises :>0

Goldie, as someone kindly pointed out to me the other day, the percentile score ranks you against "the others" that have taken the test - at that moment in time. So if 100 people had done the test, you did better than 48 of them (yay) but 51 of them did better than you (booo)0 -

74% would be your individual score. The 49th percentile is your score in comparison to others ie 51% of people taking the test would have scored better, 48% would have scored worse.0 -

Because the % is based on a curve, i.e people who get 60% comparatively are above the average.
I.E
raw score
60%
65%
Above this line = 50% or less
Below better than 50%
75%
80%0
