I am a very fast speed reader so I did it in under an hour. I was relieved with that as It then meant I could go back and check my answers.
Good luck.:)0 -

I submitted applications for 2 different districts and received 2 emails today - both for the same district [?!?]. Had a deadline of Friday to email back.
Anybody else had a similar email yet?
Yes I had a similar thing - they sent me 2 emails for the one (same) location last night, and thankfully, they have sent me emails for my other 2 regions this morning. (They have also sent me an email for a region that i have not applied for :rotfl: )
P.s - Is this job being advertised anywhere else yet (apart from cs site?) I go on directgov a few times a day and have seen no sign of it yet? Nor in local papers? When you're going through hell, keep going...0 -

Whenever I have done a job search on Direct.gov.uk over the last week or so, it has appeared as being 'regional' towards the bottom of my search. I'm not aware of it being advertised anywhere else though the guy at the job centre mentioned each advisor had to put forward a certain number of people from their case load for the position.0 -
Hi. Advice please
. Where it asks for employment history covering the last 3 years, I have been a SAHM since 2006, but have a full work history prior to this. Can anyone advise whether to just put 'not employed' for this period or whether I should refer to my earlier employment history (or is this seen as not understanding the question by recruiters).
Want to get this submitted today if poss so grateful for any advice.£2012 in 2012 = £34.440 -

If it helps, my boyfriend applied for this job in the past and was told not to put anything prior to the three year period stated. He had been a student and had detailed his work history before this but was advised just to note his university course and leave the details for the prior three years blank. To be honest, I think they will judge your application more on your competencies and test than employment history anyway so try not to stress about the contents of the latter.0 -
Thanks. I thought this would be the case, but it seems a bit of a weak point when I have three years at home. I am currently in training though, so at least I do have something to put for current activity.£2012 in 2012 = £34.440

No problem. I certainly don't think you'll be alone with this. As a recent graduate, my work history isn't exactly glowing (I worked in Greggs during my degree!) so don't worry. I was concerned about whether or not I had a chance at this job but the guy at the Job Centre told me they are really emphasising diversity this time round, and trying to employ people from all different backgrounds. When I attended the induction day, there was quite a mix of people of different ages and different employment backgrounds. I think if your competencies show a range of experiences, this will go in your favour. You could mention previous employment in this section if you like.0 -

The application form also states that any employment history IF RELEVANT to the advertised job should be included. So go back and put in your previous employment. I would if it were me.
Also, don't leave blanks. State 'Homemaker' to cover the 3 year gap so they know you weren't just dossing about.0 -
Just completed the online test. Found it a bit hard as I've never done anything like that before but I am most concerned about the parts where you have to rank the different options as I don't think I've done very well and have no idea what they were looking for there. However, my main concern is that I've applied for 2 districts and the test has only registered on one of my applications. I clicked into the other application to see if the test had registered for that one too but it took me into the test again, as if I have to complete it all over again! Now when I go to my details, it says 'test in progress'. Do I have to complete the test a second time? I am currently phoning the helpline but it keeps cutting me off. Arg!0

I just completed another vacancy for another district and it said the situation test was complete for it straight away so not sure what's wrong there (I completed the test for one vacancy before applying for another). Btw, you can check how well you did in the test, it's one of the options on the left sidebar.0
