I think it's the way the online application is set up; only the first competency has an asterix denoting mandatory. I would assume this is an "error" with the application rather that meaning only one is mandatory.
I came across this when I was completing the application form and accidentally went to the next section before finishing the competencies.
Personally I think its a bit misleading.0 -

Any online testing will be done during the application, ive not heard of any additional testing other than the 75 min one that you complete after you have submitted your app.
This is what the form says; The tests are not supervised and we rely on your integrity in completing them. For validation purposes further paper versions of these tests will be given to candidates who reach the final selection stage.
I'm not sure if that's correct or not though? Might just be default setting with the new CS Resourcing application system? I thought the whole idea of the "one" e-recruitment system across the civil service was to do away with different application systems for each department and have a standard online system. Who knows! Not me, someone else got the job in CS:R that I was after!0 -
You can get your online score by clicking feedback at the bottom of the options.0

If I could click on thanks more than once I would, that is excellent advice. It's a shame it doesn't tell you anywhere that you can do that, although maybe working it out is part of the test! Anyway, I got 99% :j0 -
Hi, does anybody know how to interpret the RAW score after taking online test? I'm disappointed with my overall Score but don't understand the breakdowns.. It says I got 210/24 and 1980/336??
Thanks!0 -
Those figures can't be right, in each case the first number has to be smaller than or the same as the second number. For instance, my first set is 23/24, so I got 23 right and 1 wrong out of 24.
Edit: Actually, I'm guessing that somehow a 0 has been added to the end of the first number in each set, so you actually scored 21/24 and 198/336. I imagine it's the second set (which is questions 5 and 6 in each scenario) that has let down your overall score.0 -
I wouldn't apply for this job regardless of pay because of several factors
Please explain what these factors are, as I am a disabled and my current job gives me flexibility in managing that and sustaining a job, but just to be in that entry level management grade I was thinking of applying for this job but wouldn't want to risk my current work/life balance if i am not going to be happy in this one, after all money isn't everything.
thanks in advance0 -

What did you get in the second set out of 336 if you don't mind me asking?0 -

I didn't post it because I'd forgotten the figure and couldn't be bothered to log back on last night. I've done it now, I got 23/24 and 253/336. Here's the full feedback (including the typo in the next to last bullet point):
Overall Score (percentile): 99%

As this area is a clear strength for you, it is important that you maintain this strength by using it where ever possible. You might consider:- Maintaining your focus on clear analysis and interpretation by choosing to coach or mentor a colleague or friend who is less effective in this area.
- Actively seeking out challenges which involve analysing complex information and data in order for recommendations to be made.
- Keep up to date on techniques and approaches that can be employed to structure your analysis of information.

- Reflecting on decisions that you make and learning from their outcomes.
- Evaluating the pro.s and cons of the information used to make decisions.
