I didn't post it because I'd forgotten the figure and couldn't be bothered to log back on last night. I've done it now, I got 23/24 and 253/336. Here's the full feedback (including the typo in the next to last bullet point
):
Overall Score (percentile): 99%
Interpreting your score
This means that your score on this exercise was higher than most people you have been compared to. You have performed to a high standard in responding to the case studies presented in the exercise.
Analysis and Interpretation Raw Score: 23/24
Interpreting your score
Your score was higher than the majority of people you have been compared to. You have demonstrated considerable strength in this area.
It is likely that when you review complex written information, you can quickly identify the critical points being communicated, separate fact from opinion and draw meaningful conclusions. Your performance also suggests that you can accurately interpret financial or statistical data and use it to support your decisions. Together, these elements are likely to mean that you are capable of analysing complex data or information effectively under tight time pressure and others will probably see you as an incisive and logical problem solver.
As this area is a clear strength for you, it is important that you maintain this strength by using it where ever possible. You might consider:- Maintaining your focus on clear analysis and interpretation by choosing to coach or mentor a colleague or friend who is less effective in this area.
- Actively seeking out challenges which involve analysing complex information and data in order for recommendations to be made.
- Keep up to date on techniques and approaches that can be employed to structure your analysis of information.
- Offering your support to others where appropriate if you feel you can help them in making sense of complex information and data.
Interpreting your score
You scored higher than most other people you have been compared to. You have demonstrated considerable strength in this area.
It is likely that you are effective at judging the relative strengths and weaknesses of different approaches to a situation and have a good understanding of the impact of different courses of action on people and tasks. Your performance suggests that you have a good appreciation of the actions that will help to achieve the organisation.s goals and the actions that will cause problems.
As this area is a clear strength for you, it is important that you continue to put it to use either for yourself or others. You might consider:- Maintaining your focus on effective action planning by choosing to coach or mentor a colleague or friend who is less effective in this area.
- Reflecting on decisions that you make and learning from their outcomes.
- Evaluating the pro.s and cons of the information used to make decisions.
- Offering your support to others where appropriate in evaluating different courses of action.
Thanks and best of luck in the interview which I'm sure you'll get.0 -
Ive been told i have to apply to this, as it was one of the jobs suggested to me by the jobcentre. Thing is i know i wont get it, so id rather spend 2 hours of my time on other job apps. Im a graduate, never had a full time paid job, only part time voluntary office work. This doesnt sound like an entry level role to me.
And ive already applied to a contact centre role at the DWP, pased tests and got to interview, which i failed. (Granted that was my first ever competency interview and since then ive done a few more competency interviews and loads of competency applications so i feel far more confident..but thats not the point!). They interviewed about 500 people for 100 odd jobs, they take the TOP 100 so its highly competitive.
I also was called by my job centre to come in for for an "advice session" on applying to this particular role.
Im thinking about purposefulyl doing bad on the tests cos i dont want to spend hours filling out a competency questionnaire. I know im being pessimistic but i want to spend my time on things i have more of a chance at getting..0 -

EO; ie this level, is the level at which most graduates would enter the CS at - at the least. On various schemes you start as EO and finish as HEO on your "release"..
A graduate should definitely apply for this role, you can use your voluntary experience for the compentencies or examples from uni/personal life. Trust me it's a lot easier to get a management level job straight out in the CS than it is to progress from a lower level.
Why not just try your best? You may surprise yourself. Change of attitude is needed0 -
Bit dissapointed in my score at 89% - 22/24 and 237/336. Ahh well fingers crossed I scrape through to the application competancies sift.
Good luck everyoneLegalBeagles0 -
Hmm, being a maths moron I may have this wrong but it would appear to me there is a greater weighting on the first (Analysis and Interpretation) questions in regards to the overall percentage?0

The percentage that people are stating isn't a mark, it's actually the percentile of all the applications in which your results put you - so mine is 99 which means I'm in the top 1%, esmerellda's at 89 means she is above 88% of people but below 10%.0 -

I got emails today asking me to complete a 'working locations form'. It said that this wasn't a preference exercise but just to give DWP an indication of how many people would like to work in each district/area.
I submitted applications for 2 different districts and received 2 emails today - both for the same district [?!?]. Had a deadline of Friday to email back.
Anybody else had a similar email yet?0 -
Not had anything yet, re-reading the job advert it says the form will be emailed within 2 working days so I guess that have until tomorrow morning to send me the first one, and as you say it has to be returned within 3 days. Bit rubbish that they sent you two the same, I've now done two applications so I'll let you know what I get.0

I got lower than the awesome scores people have posted here so my hopes have been dashed on getting past the test stage, it's probably for the better. Good luck to those that make to the interview stage, I'm sure you'll do well as you did in the tests.0
