DWP Recruiting Again - 2012

I got the polish from the cupboard intending to polish. Checked comps. I moved the polish and got the Hoover out. Checked comps and forum. I then thought about polishing but thought I would check comps again. As before nothing changed. The outcome is that I feel I have completely wasted the day checking for my competancy results. One positive I have the week off. :rotfl::D

Thunderplex got a much higher score than you for the Action Planning which could explain the percentile difference.
It does seem as if that's correct as a few more marks in the second part (Action planning) had a higher weighting and would have you pushed you into the 90%+.0 -

But brilliant scores!
Yeah, I applied [via app/competency form] for Black Country and B'ham. I got a link for each to complete the test. I did the Black Country one first as this was my pref'd area. I got 97%. My record showed that I still had to do the test again for B'ham - did it and scored 99%. On the last day I put in a last minute application to Staffs/Shrops - no option to complete test, my 97% from Black country had been carried over.

My partners results have gone on. Heres what she got:
Building Capability - Behavioural Rating 5
Building Capability - Behavioural Comment Some positive examples displayed, the evidence is reasonably clear and displays some of the competency
Delivering a Customer Focused Service - Behavioural Rating 7
Delivering a Customer Focused Service - Behavioural Comment A strong example of this competency, has explained what the issue was, what was done and the result. Could have given performance figures so that performance could have been explained with regards to how the process improved performance.
Leading - Behavioural Rating 4
Leading - Behavioural Comment An acceptable example however indicators were not clearly identified.
Managing People and Performance - Behavioural Rating 4
Managing People and Performance - Behavioural Comment Needs to xpand on the example and explain clearer how things were done and the reason.
Operational Delivery - Delivering a Professional Service Rating 4
Operational Delivery - Delivering a Professional Service Comment Whilst an average example, not at the required level. Need to elaborate more.
Overall rating:
Along with a test score of 94%. This is for Bham & Solihull.
Wonder what her chances are of getting an interview?0 -

If the speculators who've posted previously are correct you need to score 4 or more in each to get an interview.
Same for the interview minimum 4 out of 9 as it's considered a communication competency.0 -

Guess i'm out of the running for the Black country then!!!
That's just stupid - how on earth can there be such a huge difference in some of the scores - as someone else stated a 1 point difference is understandable - but not 5 - can you appeal?!
(Or maybe you have a West Bromwich address and the sifter has a Wolves one- now that would explain it
)
ETA: When did the Black Country scores come up for you? Nothing yet for me under BC.0 -
I wouldn't know how to appeal my scores - knowing my luck they'd lower the B'ham ones to match the Black country ones!
My B'ham scores appeared mid-morning today and the Black country scores mid afternoon.
I have re-read the black country comments - they didn't like my application examples at all did they? Oh well, I tried0 -
Well I certainly hope that the ones who get the jobs are slightly brighter than the JC advisor who interviewed my friend last week.
He's graduated from University with a degree in computer science and programming.
The advisor asked him what his degree was in...so he told her.
She then said that some jobs require using a computer and asked him if he had any experience using one. :wall:
I told my friend that he should have just replied that he'd never touched one. :rotfl:Stone walls do not a prison make, nor iron bars a cage.0 -
All I can think is that the interview is also marked on comunication. If they read the competancies beforehand it isn't giving them a chance to see how you come across when interviewing. Plus some may not have writen their own comps (not aimed at anyone just a generalisation) so what looks good on paper may be someone elses ideas. This will show at interview unless the candidate has memorised them to the nth degree.0
