    <snip!>

Guess i'm out of the running for the Black country then!!!

I haven't got comments for any of mine!! And the other area I applied for haven't even gotten around to sifting yet :undecided

  • Went for Manchester/North Cheshire areas. got 94% (which surprised the hell out of me, 21/24 for analysis and 255/336 for Action Planning.

I got 22/24 for analysis and 233/336 for action planning, and I scored 86 percentile. Competition must be much harsher in the south west.

    I've been the same!

But tomorrow we'll still be checking for competency feedback :p

I got the polish from the cupboard intending to polish. Checked comps. I moved the polish and got the Hoover out. Checked comps and forum. I then thought about polishing but thought I would check comps again. As before nothing changed. The outcome is that I feel I have completely wasted the day checking for my competancy results. One positive I have the week off. :rotfl::D

Guess i'm out of the running for the Black country then!!!

And you submitted identical statements to both areas ?
If so they should be made to explain why the differences.
Better they stick to on-line computer marking to avoid such subjective scoring (or non-scoring )

As far as I'm aware, the tests were marked against a control group so it doesn't matter which part of the country you're in.

Thunderplex got a much higher score than you for the Action Planning which could explain the percentile difference.
  • I submitted identical statements for all 3 of the areas I applied for.
I got 97% in Black Country and Staffs/Shrops test and 99% in Birmingham test.

P.S. I worked for JCP as an AO for 2 years, EO and acting HEO for 5 years - all my examples came from my time there

Fascinating, good news if you applied in Birmingham in a way though - they seem a postive lot! I think the marking has to be to some degree subjective but a 2 and a 7 for the same comp? Surely some mistake....

I've had my Birmingham scores and waiting on Black Country and Coventry, got enough to pass but I'm expecting different scores from the other districts!

The competency marking is to subjective, it depends on the people reviewing them, if I get similar results to yours I will be asking for a review.

I provided competencies prepared with the help of my line manager (an HEO with a number of years experience) for a position in Brum two years ago and scored 3's on all parts, my line manager couldn't understand the scoring either!

Might be worth getting them to review your scores.

    Good luck!

Did you do separate tests for each area?

    But brilliant scores!
