Wow, what a long thread about tea! We are also major tea drinkers and always look out for offers. Home Bargains usually do PG Tips 240 for £3.99 and Typhoo 240s have been £2.99 lately.
I find Yorkshire Tea rather too strong but find both Tesco's and Sainsbury's Red Label tea just fine.

Aldi's teabags in the red box are excellent. I used to be a devoted tetley drinker but they are fab. They are £1.69 for 160

snap we changed to aldi's we bought a box to try and thats it now wouldnt ( unless a realy good offer) go back
  • I tried sainsbury basic tea, Love it! Would never buy anything else again.

I agree, Sainsburys Basics at 27p for 80 is fantastic value and a good tasting cuppa too. I never buy anything else.

Since going organic last year, we switched from Co-op 99 teabags to Sainsbury's SO organic Fairtrade teabags and Clipper organic Earl Grey teabags (stockpiled when on offer). Still not found an organic loose tea as good as Brooke Bond Taj Mahal tea (number one teas in India).

Looking to try ASDA Organics 80 teabags 1.83 if I can find them !

Iceland have PG Tips for £3.50 at the moment. ETA just noticed Andy has already posted this!

I agree with the comments about Sainsbury's basics!

After I finished my expensive-even-with-discount box of PG Tips I thought I'd try them, expecting sawdust flavour at that price, but I actually preferred them to PG Tips!

I like to try new things but now I can't face buying any other tea... not when the price & flavour are so good.

Another vote for Sainsburys basics tea, I always have at least 4 boxes on the shelf, I had 10 boxes in stock at one point! love my tea!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I buy the asda chosen by you in the red box and they are lovely but they can still be quite expensive at £1.29 for 80,£3.69 for 240 but sometimes you get deals on them and then i stock up.I,ve notice farmfoods and the £1 shops Tetley t bags only have 76 in a box compared to the usual 100.
  • When we went to Sri Lanka we asked a young lad why he was constantly sweeping up 'bits' and dried leaves of the floor and into a little pile. He said the 'bits' go into cheap tea bags which are sold in the uk ... After tasting Asda's own I believe him :rotfl:
