I tend to go between Yorkshire, PG & Typhoo, which ever are on offer. Recently they had the first on special offer in Sainsburys so stocked up. Surprised at those recommending Sainsburys basics. I tried their normal range and found it too bland but am tempted to try the basics now. It's worth signing up to Clipper, Twinings and Typhoo's websites as they often send out samples & money off vouchers.0

asda are currently doing pg tips 240 for £4 = 1.66p per t-bag
tesco's are doing pgtips 2x160's for £5 = 1.56p per t-bag , and morrions are 160's for £2.50 = 1.56p per t-bag
morrisons website said 240 for £2.50 but had none on tuesday and had replaced them with the 160's with no 50% extra free. so same as tesco's price
i usually buy mine when iceland have them for 240 for £3.50 1.45p per t-bag.0 -

Yeah, anyone wanting free samples, try searching the freebies board. Offers tend to come and go quite often.0 -
ahh teabags are so expensive arent they! My oh will only drink tetley as well! arghThe opposite of what you know...is also true0

Anyone ever opened up a teabag ? It looks like tea dust frankly. I suspect that we are being ripped off, paying for good quality and not getting it, compared to loose tea0

Normally drink Tetley and Ocado had them on offer for £3.52 for 240. However, when delivery arrived on Friday they had run out and so tried to substitute us with 160 for £4.30!!!
Needless to say, they went back!!!
So come Sunday, we were tealess! Decided to try the Aldi 27p/80 teabags having seen a few positive reports on this thread. I have to say that they were absolutely awful!!! Weak and insipid, with a terrible colour. i reckon they are filled with the dust swept off the teapacking production line floor. Result - 78 teabags in the bin. (dont have a garden so couldnt recycle on the compost heap!
So went in the end for good old Yorkshire. 2 x 240 at Sainsburys for £6. Good dependable solid cuppa.
Have also received a pack of 10 clipper big bright tea bags from Ocado FOC  (dont know if this was related to the Tetley's fiasco!) with a 50p off coupon. These are really nice as well - never had them before. Might give them a try when the Yorkshire has run out.0 -
I normally drink Tetley but they were not on offer at Tescos so i brought tescos brand tea bags they were 65p for 40 and have to say its a good cuppa. Might even buy these from now on.Jan Wins: .0

Heckie thump ... I could never risk us being tealess. I always have at least one full box of teabags in the cupboard. As soon as we open the last box, I'm making sure I find the next offer and stock up again.
BTW, just looked on sainsburys website, according to them, its 2 X 160 Yorkshire teabags for £6, NOT 2 X 240:(I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0 -

Bummer! Just run to the cupboard as I was sure it was 240's !!!
Alas it wasn't the 240's but the 160's.
Sorry for the confusion!0 -
We've had PG Tips for ages but recently (on reccommenation from here) I purchased the 27p ones from Lidl. Must admit I was a bit sceptical, but they are actually ok - you do have to leave the bag in for longer than say PG Tips (miketaff 1408, I suspect this would also be the case with aldi's) but if you do that, they're pretty drinkable.
We do like Clipper but that's a bit of a treat, and there's a brand called 'London Cuppa' in Asda (used to do it in Sains too) which is nice, although not had them for ages. They're in a white box with a black top and bottom and a drawing of the london skyline on the box.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
