  • Morning all :)

What a fantastic weekend I have had with my family.

We have a new addition to the family, a small pony for my daughter. She is on loan and is very cheap. £10 a week :D It's fantastic news. I of course have to add this into my budget however the pleasure we will get from this far outweighs the cost on my purse.

I am determined not to allow this to change my DFD so keeping it the same for now and rejigging as I need to.

On that note I have a beef in gravy tea in the slow cooker which is using everythin I have in the house. I will put peas and sweet spuds with it for a hearty healthy meal.

Aldi's super 6 are great this week for us so I will probably go back and get some more, blanch and freeze.

At the end of the month I will be getting a large bag of mince (have none in now and not paying shop prices) which I will make up into shep pies/spag bols/lasagna and a few other bits and pieces and freeze. Same for diced beef, will make up a load of stews and things and freeze for the coming months.

If I can keep the costs of groceries down that's where there's flexibility for savings to be made and the money can be saved to debt :)

I'm off to update my budget with my little addition to the family.

  • Hi MSE diary land

Another meal in the slow cooker today ready for tonight. Hope it works ok as the mushrooms (which I don't think will do well in a SC) were floating on the top rather than submerged.

Anyway - it'll be eaten either way :)

Last night was my riding lesson and again it was just fantastic. I am learning so much. Tomorrow when DD and I go to do her pony we're going to watch the professional girls jumping which you can learn from too.

We've gone from standing still to a steady pace with full steam ahead being next year. Enjoying every minute of it though.

    Off to check my accounts.

  • OK I am feeling the need again so I have sorted out my spreadsheet - given it a declutter. I now feel like I have less financial worry hanging around my neck. Not sure why as nothing's actually changed lol.

I have my account A which all of my direct debits and cash withdrawls come from. These are the ones that do not change from month to month. Then I have my account B which is the everything else account and where I pay my debt from, as it changes monthly how much I can pay off. Once my debt is paid off I won't have to make any adjustments as I will still have a bills account as such and anything extra just gathers up into my account B.

I feel a lot better. Also I can see where I can add in my own horse ;)
