    Hi hun

Currently doing lessons to see what I can remember and what my body will allow me to do lol. I've been hammering the gym which I am pleased with as seeing a difference so hoping the riding impact to my body is minimal lol as my first lesson left me walking like John Wayne!

As my daughter rides too, once we are both into things and confident we could look after a horse then I do hope I can loan one out for (at least) her and hopefully me too.

Therefore repaying this debt is so important (it was anyway but esp now) as it means we can live some more of our dream. Until then I am making sure we have lessons weekly to have a taster of what it'll be like.

It is am amazing feeling to ride (as you know) and owning a horse would be the best experience IMO. We are in it for the whole thing, not just the nice parts ;)

Owning a horse would be amazing and what a wonderful thing for your daughter too :)

Back in September 2009 (pre LBM!) I went on this holiday
It was absolutely fantastic - galloping on a beach at sunset was on my list of things to do.
The brother of the guy who ran it took some beautuful photos of us doing it too.

OMG that is amazing and is on my list! I bet they were beautiful rides. We could do that as a family think when the kids are older - wow.

Makes the journey that little bit easier when things like this come along. I have never seen those type of hols before.

    Thanks xxxx

The rides were fantastic - miles of deserted sandy beaches and quiet pine forests. Although my bum didn't half hurt at the end of every day!

It was a fantastic holiday and the 3 others in my group who I met when I got there had done many of these before and recommended plenty. It was a good mix of people - 2 German ladies and a guy from New York who was 74 and still happily riding for hours, so it was a great experience all round.

It's a great idea to look forward to these things when debt-busting I think. I try to remind myself that's the sort of thing that my debt came from so maybe I shouldn't be too down about paying it back. Works sometimes :o

  • Hiya,
Hope you don't mind me stopping by!
Can I just say THANK YOU! I haven't even started on my debt free challenge yet (at uni, one wage coming in etc..) but it starts next year when I qualify, and thanks to your diary, I've just wrote out a complete plan of all debts and how long it is expected to take to clear them. I now have a 'realistic' picture in my head and can actually see some light at the end of the very long dark tunnel!
Good luck to you with your debt free challenge you're well on your way.
I'll keep popping in to say hi and get some more tips for when I begin on my own challenge.
    Thanks again

This is a great way to not get yourself tied up in a knot about why you are where you are. I wish I could do the same but the only good thing I bought with my debt is my range cooker! The rest I couldn't say cos I don't know as it was all so un-needed! However, looking at it the other way - I know where I want to be and when I get there I won't let anything get me back to the financial mess I have been in. I don't suppose I am in a mess now, never been so finanically organised actually, nor frugal so I am pleased at the learning that's come out of this but needless to say I'll be MORE than ecstatic when I am out of it :D

    Right - couple of updates.

Things are looking positive for a job I am applying for. You may remember that I said my job was uncertain as they wanted to relocate everyone to the states? Well I have been told that although they DO want to do that for the position I am in they do NOT want to lose me from the company. Apparently I am a big asset....yes, there was ET at the end of that word.....lol

So I am applying for a new job which I have preferred candidate status for. hopefully when it is graded (internal pay structure) it will come out as higher than I am on now and I may get a rise again. Don't want to sound greedy but needs myst and #1 etc etc.

Then next topic is I have finally sent off the remaining PPI claims today so we shall see if anything can be squeezed from that lemon. I hope so, I want to thrash this debt to nothing in no time!

Right, I am off home, tea, kids, gym, bed!

    Well today is another day!

A day closer to being off for the week :)

Got a few nice plans for next week including horse riding with my daughter in a joint lesson so that will be fun.

Pay day tomorrow so I can get some movement on the debt then.

    Nothing else doing yet

It's Friday :) and I am off next week :)

I shall be spending as little as possible but doing as much as possible with the kids.

DD and I have a shared riding lesson, just us 2, next week so that will be fun. The weather doesn't look great so hope it won't affect us being able to be outside too much as we love being out.

I have paid 1 cc this morning but the other one doesn't have it's statement generated yet so I have to wait for that. Only 4 more payments before the family loan 0% is wiped out and that will take me over 50% by then :)
