Well well it's been a while,.....but not because I have fallen off the wagon, far from it. I have had a crazy few weeks at work (this is the 4th week of craziness) so not been able to get on.

I have spent more than should (again not cos fallen off wagon) just circumastances. So I have readjusted my figures accordingly this morning and I am all sorted.

I've also upped my Xmas savings as I know no matter how much I budget it seems to go over. Although this year I am doing well in the summer sales so far which I am pleased about. I need to start getting my parents some things along with DH family. It's the kids I have been sorting out first.

I have also intriduced the discussion about saving fuel in the winter - I have managed to get my bills down and although I know they will go up in the winter I am not prepared to see them go through the roof for unthoughtful use. Military style I know.

I am managing to empty the freezer still ready for the big clean out and refill. I have plenty of diced beef for casseroles to make things in the slow cooker ready for the winter stock up.

All in all things are going quite well. I need to concentrate on making money somewhere but I really have flogged everything I can at the mo. So I need to focus harder on reducing outgoings which again I have flogged to death.

  • I know what you mean, I have just got a new pile of things to sell from a cupboard declutter. The kids will grow out of something soon and you can flog it. When its autumn we can go foraging too!

    Morning world

Seriously, where is the time going, it's crazy! I am so busy at work, which is great in one sense, but I have no time for other things lol.

Lots of changes going on at work still but until I know something for sure I won't say anything as I am sick of thinking things through only for them to change - waste of my thinking time!

Financially I have overspent the grocery challenge this month as bought a few things for the house too. I still have money in the bank so I am cool with this.

Also I have made a decision which I need to work through. Part of living the simple life for us is to own our own animals of which I'd love to get my DD a pony (not to eat!). I love horses and would love to start riding again myself but always thought I can't afford it. Now truth be told, I can afford it if I don't hammer the debts as much so it's catch 22 in one way. I am thinking though - life is too short to keep putting things off until.....and risk 'until' never happening. I would also like to be in a good position when we can afford the new place to be able to get animals immediately and be confident enough around them (thinking horses here) as they do take more looking after than other farm animals.....so in my mind it's helping me prepare for the new place :) maybe that's how I like to justify it but it's working for me :)

Frugal to the hilt - I WILL find more ways to cut back to allow me to live part of the dream already.

Being the impatient sole that I am I have re jigged my budget to include riding lessons for me :) I work damned hard for my money and I would like a bit of my own quality of life back as a result.

My daughter rides so I will be joining her, mother daughter time is always good :)

    Afternoon world!

    Days are leaving me behind!

Work is still really busy so that's prob why.

Things are ticking over nicely and I have started riding again which has been AMAZING and giving me part of the dream already so that is keeping me going as a taste of what could be once I am DF.

    Morning world :)

Well pay day is only 2 days away so that is good! Can get cracking with the payments again.

Things are slow in that respect at this time of the monthly financial cycle.

The intention next month is to pay as much as I can off but stay in credit now that I have got rid of my OD again. I will be incorportating riding into this months budget too.

I am shattered today, think an early night is in order.

Riding sounds so good DF - are you taking lessons or hiring a horse out to do your own thing? :)
