PPI Party Pooper Debt-free and Proud!
Good morning, I too love my online banking and spreadsheet. Only problem is the spreadsheet is very easy to tweak and play with - the banking not so much lol ;) Sometimes I have to remind myself that its real money I cant just transfer things around like I can on my spreadsheet. Reminds me of when my son was little and the school wanted some money for something and I cant remember what I had said but his reply was 'dont worry mum just write a cheque!' Like Monopoly money :D

I tried to move my loan to one with half the amount of interest - all went through initially and then underwriters came back and so no - because of 2 mortgages being in my name. I tried to explain one was a rental and has long standing tenants but they were not happy so I just need to knuckle down and keep at it :o

Have a good day everyone and well done Pennies on being DF - send any tips this way :D
  • Morning all

Well I made it out of the house on time this morning and without any arguements with DD again so that is a bonus! Arguements being get ready quicker - I AM! Nothing serious :)

I have a boot full of charity stuff which I will drop off at lunch time and load the car with the next lot - part of decluttering the house which feel good too.

The house is reasonably tidy (I say that as my kids as 4 and 1 - never totally tidy!) and combined with my new work outfit I feel rather good today, positive.

I have checked my accounts and everything is as expected, no nasty surprises. I don't know why I can't get out of that mentality thinking that there's going to be a transaction i don't know about. It must be as it used to happen all the time with overdraft charges and so on.

I remembered I owed £120 to a savings pot this month so I have paid that back from the ppi so it doesn't impact on my budget. It's come just at the right time :)

Today I have a hectic day and am fighting back a headache however positive as said. Will pop out at lunch time for fresh air and the charity run then back this afternoon.

I think i will move some money to the loan savings account just so I feel like I am doing something to pay it off!

    xx

    Morning hun!

How cute of your son - my daughter's has some classic's too. It's funny though as she now turns lights off for me and says - "saving pennies Mum"!

I don't think I will get any offers from the bank in time to have an effect on the loan - the credit card apr's are lower than the bank would probably offer me so won't help them - it's my loan that's at a shocking apr amount so hoped to reduce it. In the same position as you as they are currently saying no so I have to just knuckle down and pay it off.

When I am DF I refuse to owe anyone anything again - I hate it with a passion!!

    Welcome back!!!

Are you ready for some debt kicking?

I am feeling it this year!!!

I'm looking into sourcing some top soil for my veg patches which I am doing to save money long term and for a hobby as I currently work/mum/housewife with nothing for me except this site and being a DFW - which could become a full time addiction if not careful!

    Hi there

Just found you under new posts so will subscribe and will be cheering you on your way to debt freeness!!:D

I was FT until about 6 months ago, now PT and loving it ( but have got into debt again...still was living the high life until literally last week :o) kids are older than yours but lord was it hard. Easiest thing was to spend your way out of trouble or stress. My weaknesses were ( are?!) holidays and food...anyway I do understand how hard it can be to keep on going, especially if it's all a secret.

Best of luck and heres to a great chapter 2 and 3!!
