Sorry, had to take a few minutes to compose myself afer my last post. My family rescued the most wonderful loyal pet you could ever wish for. The kind you could turn inside out and they wouldn't complain. He was rescued from Dogs Trust having been abandoned when he was a pup. The rescue centre thought he was blind as the hair had totally matted over one of his eyes. He was painfully thin and his coat was a mess. He even had bald patches on his knees which we attributed to him praying for a kind loving owner. The day we went to Dogs Trust we were on I think our 3rd and final walk around the kennels when all of a sudden we all got splashed. Thinking this was just a coincidence we tried again and walked away and came back and yes, we got splashed again. That was the day Pips chose us. He won best rescue dog just a few months later at the annual kennel show. He really was mans best friend.
A few years later he started going downhill. I got the dreaded phonecall in work one day saying he'd taken a turn and it wasn't looking good. I composed myself as best I could and approached my boss to ask him for the following day off as the outcome was bleak. His reponse ........ "sure just get him put down today and you'll not need the time off". I may have responded out of turn but he backed down and gave me the morning off. Found out later my colleagues had given him a hard time for being a heartless (sorry not allowed to swear).
Pips was taken to the vet the following morning after we'd all had time to spend with him during the night. By some miracle the vet did something and he was given a reprieve. Upon hearing that he was on his way home, I rushed straight off to work, earlier than I needed to because of my boss' attitude. I got another phonecall later that day. He'd taken a bad turn and was rushed to the vet but there was nothing they could do. I'm crying typing this as I missed the last time Pips was able to run let alone walk and all because my boss was being a (not allowed to swear). I set the phone down, walked over to him and said "you'll be pleased to know he's just been put down".
I can't believe that 555 (much prefer 666!) can come on here and make the kind of post they did. There are some nasty trolls on here but that takes the biscuit :mad:0 -

Yes, it was Blackpool. I got 3 lots last weekend and didn't have any problems at all. There was only one person on the till on the ground floor yesterday pm when I was there - I should have known better and gone to the first floor as I thought she looked rather fishy!0 -
3dogs and Blondynurse my thoughts are with you both.
when we said goodbye to our dog 10 years ago, it was like losing a member of the family. even though we have 2 lovely dogs now, we still think of our little layla. you will always remember the best bits. they still bring a tear to my eye even after 10 years, so you will have many memories.0 -

I managed to get 2 lots of DTD today ... but just noticed that the SA has again miscalculated and underpaid me by £4.74 (should have got £29.30 DTD but got £24.56)
- 3 x ZingZilla toys ... OOD SEL £3 ... scanned at £6.97 ... DTD £23.82 (SA wrote on receipt £21.82)
- 2 x Retractable Airer (again) ... SEL £4.50 ... scanned £5.87 ... DTD £5.48 (SA wrote on receipt £2.74 ... DTD on just 1 airer)
I could have got a 3rd but I put it back to get another day ... bags of Little Miss Princess sweeties. They're sitting on a top shelf and have been starring at me for weeks but didn't scan them until today. SEL 50p ... scanning at something like £1.30.0 -

Sad night in more ways than one tonight. My thoughts and support goes to all those missing loved ones.
Also I need to add my daily plea to have HappyChappy back, don't know if it is falling on deaf ears or not but I feel the need to raise the profile in my own way.
Sleep tight all 11+ers as best you can. Cyber hugs all round.Couldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can

LOL I'd end up PM'ing everyone.
I will post it tomorrow though I promise and the likelihood is it'll still be there tomorrow!
Tonight is the 3rd store out of 4 I've found it in but with feeling rough past few days I couldn't be bothered with it until today so only did it the once today. Shame as it was an opportunity in prescot too, in fact I saw THREE good dtd's in there, but had other things on my mind so didn't bother.0
