  • I hope that the family appreciated what nearly happened and that if it wasnt for you it could have been awful .

A few years ago our second car was an old fiesta that we parked in front of the house. we lived next to a toddlers park (which was mainly used by teenagers - another story thats why we moved) anyway, one day I looked out of the window and saw a group of kids around my car. I went outside and most of them scarpered, there were two left who were about 3 and 4 years old with a can of spray paint in their hand just about to do a paint job on my car. I asked them where they lived and they lived about 3 streets away. I marched them round home to be greeted by 3 kids in the front garden, the mum opened the door heavily pregnant, holding a baby and 2 more screeming in the background. She was not at all bothered by the fact that they were 3 streets away or that they wanted to paint my car. I think she had too much to cope with!

Look on the bright side, if it wasn't for people like this, you lot would have nobody to watch on that awful Jeremy Kyle programme!
  • Just caught up and its not even past 12.30, I'm usually catching up by 1 or 2am then trying to get a bit of sleep before my Dad gets up at 5am for work, then alarm goes off at 7 am and 8am for the school run.

Anyway, mum's off tomorrow and wants to go to Boots to see what sale stuff's left and I'll just get some more shots and vits if i can find any, maybe use my No7 vouchers while I'm there :)

    Goodnight all.

i would open a pack try one, if it smells ok and tastes ok they should be fine, most things like choc, biscuits, dry goods are fine for months even years after the best before date, the best before date is just a guide for the quality of an item, unlike the use by date which means if it is eaten after the use by date it could possibly be harmful to your health. for the past few weeks i have been eating oat so simple that were best before april 2011, they are fine, and im still here :rotfl:

I cleared out my cupboards yesterday and was horrified that my cornflour and peppercorns were both dated 2006 :eek::eek::eek: I have still been using them without realising :rotfl: There were a few other things 2008 onwards. The worst of it is, I moved house 2 years ago and have obviously moved all this stuff with me!! I was really shocked though at the amount I threw out that hadn't even been opened. I'm definately going to start some stock rotation in my cupboards :rotfl:

Do you know whats so stupid about the whole thing, I even get anxiety over going to the doctors so I dont end up going, unless its for something that is more physical & clearly visable. Think it comes from low self esteem etc but I can get myself in a right state over even having to make an appointment, yet if its for the kids I have no problem!:rotfl: Its a funny old thing that translates different in everyone, I find with me its so complex & contradictory that I cant be bothered even trying to explain it to the doctor these days! But atleast Im at a stage where I can laugh about it these days.lol

It may help to ask the surgery when is the quietest time as a lot of people (me included) get highly anxious in busy waiting rooms......

Just had a text from my parents who are on holiday in Tenerife. They have had all their cash, my mums cards and mums jewellery stolen from the hotel room (and it was locked inside a case)
The jewellery is the worst thing, they took her engagement ring and other sentimental items. :(

I'm so upset and angry that people could do that. I've travelled all round the world and never had anything stolen, even in notorious places like Brazil, and this happends in tenerife.

I'm sorry to hear about this, what an awful thing to happen

I was recently prescribed Imipramine as a migraine preventative even though it's really an antidepressant.
I had to stop taking them because I too had awful nightmares and I was only on a really low dose 10mg
I'd tried another anti D which was far too sedating (although it cured the migraines) and I've tried Beta Blockers which again worked for the headaches but this time gave me insomnia!!
I'm now on an Epilim which is really an Epilepsy med....!!
So far so good as regards to side effects, but I think the dosage will be increased as I'm still getting lots of headaches (but not migraines!)
I think there is always a trade off, whatever meds you take, and sometimes the side effects are as bad as the complaint itself!!

Glad you've found something that is working for the moment chick, I was fine on my fluoxetine, not a single trouble or side effect so I'm hoping I won't have trouble with this new one. The one I had trouble with was a different class of anti-depressant and gave me awful nightmares, increased panic attacks, extreme paranoia....to name a few! Mind you it's well known I think that the side effects of all depression meds are depression, barmy it is, barmy! :rotfl:

I definitely wouldn't worry too much Sanya. With regards to dry goods, the dates are only best before, not use by. If it looks, smells and tastes fine, I continue to use it. With regards to cough mixture, there is an overwhelming amount of clinical evidence that suggests cough medicine has no medicinal benefits other than soothing the throat, infact many claim hat a spoonful of golden syrup would do the same job. It definitely doesn't offer anything in the way of a cure. I gave up taking it years ago, although I do know that some GP's will recommend Pholcodine Linctus which incidentally is the cheapest of the lot :D

I was on Cipralex for about 4 years and didn't have too many problems. Anyway, the side effects were better than those of alcohol that I'd been using as a self-medication for many years to control. anxiety and led to alcoholism and liver damage:( For those who are suffering side effects, stick with it, as the alternatives can be so much worse:(

Coming off cipralex caused me a few problems but, with help, I'm now a well balanced happy person as you all well know:rotfl::rotfl:
