So that every single post that I contribute to this thread is on topic I would just like to say I am an elite 11+ member and I hear the unjust silence of my opinions whilst I am shopping in supermarkets mainly. Just sayin.

Well I had my ECG today so just gotta wait now till all the results find their way to the doctors. The nurse who took it said it needed to be assesed by the specialist and a report done, but she looked at it and said it looked perfectly normal for a man of my age. Sounded ok to me.

Anyway I'd done the UK Biobank thing in march 2010 and had a hunch I'd done a lung function test so dug out the paperwork.

    FEV1 value 4.06 litres
    FVC value 6.04 litres
    FEV1/FVC ratio 67%

To my untrained eye and a quick google, that doesn't look brilliant. Far from bad, but does seem to suggest all my years of smoking heavily did leave some residual damage.

Will have to see what the doc says now. **FK trembles nervously**

Sounds very positive so far. GOOD LUCK for the results FK, when will they let you know? Hope they're not intending on keeping you waiting :A

It's taken me many months to settle into retirement and we have had a lot work done to the house. The good news is that the builders have nearly finished building my new Medicine Cabinet in the kitchen.
    Here, take a look...

Well you learn something new everyday, turns out a "stupid" question just earned me an £80 profit:eek::eek::eek: Goodbye straighteners it was nice knowing you...won't be taking them back to the same store though!!

I did honestly think it would cause a super-trouting at CS but you have spurred me on...love this place I really do!:D

Thank you very much to all that offered advice regarding returning ite,s that you've received a dtd on. It's something I'd always wondered too and something I've never had any experience of so great to hear others discuss it. Thank you :T

The No7 soft & soothed gentle toner is lovely it's £8, the soft & soothed Gentle Cleanser is £8, and the Cleanse & Care eye make up remover is £7.75. These are all that I've been buying with the vitamin glitch, I have'nt got any ss tills so have to be a bit careful with the SA's. So I give them the vits, shots, No7 item and then bung cotton wool or something in. It will then come to £7 something and then I hand over the £5 voucher so it looks a bit more legit, like the voucher has brought the total down;);)
Their was loads in there this morning and only 4 of us queuing:T:Tbut took my mum back at 2.30 and their was hardly anything. Uxbridge had heaps of stuff when I was in there at lunchtime. I did really well by hitting the little local Boots as well, they are worth a look and seemed to have more different stuff:)

:T:T Some fab tips, thanks Nikki and so pleased for you! Sounds like you had a great day at Boots. I hope you got everything you wanted :D
    good evening lovely peeps

not had a chance to catch up but am hoping i haven't missed a glitch?!

just checking in...and to let you know that i finally got a response from Mr CEO (or at least his people), after a few emails and a lot of waiting...over 1 month from my issue with a misprice/refused dtd from the price flop magazine.

tbh i'd given up on hearing anything back but on monday i received a lovely email apologising and offering me a money card to compensate me - £50!

can't wait to get it in the post now! :)

BRILLIANT! :T Enjoy spending it! :D

Definitely just a little boiled rice and chicken, very small portions, two or three times a day and then build it up. And lots of fresh water if you can get them to drink. If the condition persists, then obviously get it checked out. ( Advice from our vet over the years, and it's sound). HTH.

I've just eaten some T's midget gems and a bit of my back tooth has broken off.

I thought I'd had a bargain at 8p....not so cheap now I'm going to have to go to the dentist.:mad:

Purdita you poor thing!!!! Hope you can get it sorted ASAP and it's not too painful or costly!

Thank you to you both and anyone else that I've missed offering advice for my dog. She's much much happier today and all tucked up in bed now. I've given her chicken and rice today and she's been drinking plenty and no more sickness so if she's alright in the morning, I'll introduce her normal food slowly :)

As i was leaving i had a phone call from OH - the news is my FIL has a brain tumour - don't know what type or if they will operate or what treatment will be undertaken yet - still waiting to hear back from specialists, but have been told we will know for sure tomorrow, as they were waiting for a few of them to get together today and look over the MRI scans etc. and decide what will happen next. I rang the hospital and spoke to FIL and he was full of beans, said food was great and could he have his glasses so he can see what the nurses look like - he said they sound lovely but can't be too sure as can't see them ( he is also partially sighted), i asked him if i could take him anything in when i go home on friday and he said a bus ticket out of there - i said its not that bad is it? he said no, but people die in places like this and he wants to make sure he gets his pension for the month first!! - still got a great sense of humour!! i told him i was trying to get cover so i could get home earlier, but he said i should stay where i was as there are bills that need paying and he doesn't want me to get into debt for his sake - love him xxx

I really feel for you and your family bensonsmum but so thankful that there's atleast been a definite diagnosis now and like many have said, this will atleast form the ground of a treatment plan and hopefully your FIL will be fighting fit in no time. He sounds like a real character, very witty and kind :Axxx
