Another childhood memory
Did anyone else play Red Rover?
It was where two teams would stand in a line about 20 yards apart facing each other and with their arms linked.
One team would chant the name of someone from the opposing team
"Red Rover, Red Rover, we call " ......" over
Then that person would have to charge at what he thought was the weakest link and try to smash his way through the opposing wall.
There muist have been hundreds od dislocated shoulders and broken arms/wrists....but boy was it fun!!My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.0 -

I foraged some beauties last year but never got round to sourcing a method for this.
A million thank you'd in advance!!!!!
of course nice to be able to share as i have been using everyone elses recipes.
quite simple really
2lb washed rosehips
2lbs sugar
3pts boiling water.
mince or chop rosehips well then add to pan of 1.5pts boiling water when boiling well turn of heat and leave for 15 mins to infuse.
then strain through jelly bag or muslim .
return the rosehip pulp to pan with another 1.5pts water and boil a second time to get all the goodness out then leave for 15 mins again then strain through jelly bag for a second time.
wash the pan then put both lots of juice into it and reduce by about half. Then remove from heat and add sugar and stir until sugar is disolved then bottle into clean sterilised bottles
hope this is clear as i do not write recipes down0 -
Stopcocks - are they not generally found in a kitchen cupboard somewhere? Any house I've been in has had it near the sink or at least in the kitchen.0

I had a letter today from Welsh Water saying here is your bill and btw we notice your water consumption has significantly increased:eek:...kind of 3 or 4 times what I use, I am on a meter.
Checked the reading and not only was it right but it's also gone up by 10 units,I think it's 10 cubic metres of water in 1 week since it was read:eek:...there are not enough  for this.
Have any of you had anything like this before?
YES!
We had water people round one day saying lots of water going to our house & we were fiddling water meter  How?
Very stressful as 2 inspectors crawled all over my house (Fourp was away & dog had just had op) trying to find where the missing water was. I rang my Father who said about watching the meter when all water was turned off (as said by Mogchops) Meter did not move.
So that meant leak was outside. They then dug up neighbours garden (attached to my house L shape) but no leak found.
Then got letter stating I had to get it fixed within so many days or they would do it & charge me  a lot of money
Anyway eventually got a lovely top man round from water company & he came up with the solution. Tea & biscuits helpedI had to replace about 2 feet of pipe into house & they would replace 15 feet of pipe from the road :T
So cost us £50 not £1000s
Never knew where the leak was as original water pipe was never found - they just relaid a new one
I found the Water Consumer Council were very helpful http://www.ccwater.org.uk/Our Family Motto ~If all else fails - read the instructions...
