I always use greaseproof paper as it saves as much scrubbing on the pans lol
When I rolled mine out I used quite a bit of flour to dry the dough a lil too xxx

Many thanks & thank you for the recipe ♥

This is a first for me as I never really share my worries so please bear with me:o

I had a letter today from Welsh Water saying here is your bill and btw we notice your water consumption has significantly increased:eek:...kind of 3 or 4 times what I use, I am on a meter.

Checked the reading and not only was it right but it's also gone up by 10 units,I think it's 10 cubic metres of water in 1 week since it was read:eek:...there are not enough  for this.

The letter says we are sending an inspector round, job number but no time or date so I rang them up...after some faffing the girl seems really cheerful and kind and said it could be a fault with the meter but the inspector will tell you more. I am so worried that it won't be that simple because pretty much everything else involves me paying to fix it and I can't afford that:( I can't see any obvious leaks anywhere but the mud which is under the meter below the pavement is quite wet but I can't see anything leaking and that could be rain although it hasn't rained for 4 or 5 days.

I'm praying to God that the meter is at fault but I am really worried this will be my problem and not theirs, also how the hell will the bill be sorted out?

Have any of you had anything like this before? As I said I usually keep my worries to myself but we are a helpful bunch on here so I feel better already!:T Any advice appreciated....TIA!

    Sorry for long post too!
mogchops gave good advice, adding to that common water loss is from sticking ballcocks. 1st look at overflows from tank in roof if you have one. do this by looking for a small pipe coming out from just under guttering, (normaly at rear of house) 2nd if no flush has been made for 5 mins look inside your toilet systern by removing the lid. newer toilets if it is leaking the water will be constantly running into the toilet bowl. older ones it will be running into an overflow. obviously water has to be on to check these. hth

    YES!
We had water people round one day saying lots of water going to our house & we were fiddling water meter  How?
Very stressful as 2 inspectors crawled all over my house (Fourp was away & dog had just had op) trying to find where the missing water was. I rang my Father who said about watching the meter when all water was turned off (as said by Mogchops) Meter did not move.
So that meant leak was outside. They then dug up neighbours garden (attached to my house L shape) but no leak found.
Then got letter stating I had to get it fixed within so many days or they would do it & charge me  a lot of money
Anyway eventually got a lovely top man round from water company & he came up with the solution. Tea & biscuits helped ;) I had to replace about 2 feet of pipe into house & they would replace 15 feet of pipe from the road :T
    So cost us £50 not £1000s :D
Never knew where the leak was as original water pipe was never found - they just relaid a new one :)
I found the Water Consumer Council were very helpful http://www.ccwater.org.uk/
Generally there will be one under the sink in the kitchen, and there is also another in your loft next to your water tank.

We had to find the stopcock when we had been in our house for a week, it was under the blooming floor of all places - had to lift up a floor tile, then a piece of floorboard. We had to ring the previous owner to find it. When we had a new boiler, we had it moved.

:T Thank you all SOOOOOOOOOO much for your help, in the morning I am looking for the stop tap, can't see it under the kitchen sink but could be behind the junk under the utility room sink, never been into the loft  but I will investigate tomorrow...

I knew this was the right place to come...will keep you updated but would rather see a glitch on here!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
:) Learn from the past, enjoy and appreciate the present and work to make your future the best it can possibly be :)

    And get lots of glitches!

of course nice to be able to share as i have been using everyone elses recipes.
    quite simple really

    2lb washed rosehips
    2lbs sugar
    3pts boiling water.

mince or chop rosehips well then add to pan of 1.5pts boiling water when boiling well turn of heat and leave for 15 mins to infuse.
then strain through jelly bag or muslim .
return the rosehip pulp to pan with another 1.5pts water and boil a second time to get all the goodness out then leave for 15 mins again then strain through jelly bag for a second time.
wash the pan then put both lots of juice into it and reduce by about half. Then remove from heat and add sugar and stir until sugar is disolved then bottle into clean sterilised bottles

hope this is clear as i do not write recipes down

    Thank you!

    Can't wait to try it.
I am looking forward to using it as a cordial. Cheers me dears. :T

Stopcocks - are they not generally found in a kitchen cupboard somewhere? Any house I've been in has had it near the sink or at least in the kitchen.

Mine is at my back door where the boiler is but I also know where the toby (sp?) is due to water pipes freezing in the street last year, no water for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year makes one get very inventive on how to use/re-use water :D
Couldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can :(

The meter belongs to the water people and they own the pipe up to my house too but I don't know where the cut off point is. I changed to a meter about 3 years ago as I thought for 1 person it would be cheaper.

My usage hasn't changed at all, if anything I'm using a bit less as I'm conscious of the cost!

I know I have to wait until Monday until the inspector comes out but it's such a worry I don't know what the problem is:(

    D4mn houses...lol!
normaly you are responsible for the water pipe from the meter to the house:(
