A thousand thanks  Got there in time before the masses descend!

P.S. anyone know what time City Link will deliver up to? No sign of my new printer and I waited in all flaming day for it

We've had very late deliveries before because one of their drivers lives Holywood/Bangor direction and drops some off on his way home. They used to have one who lived at the top of my mum's street who used to just walk down when he'd finished but he had to retire on medical grounds :(
Hopfully it arrives soon for you

edit: just read you got it safely :)

hc has been given a lifetime ban for using colourful language:(:(:(apparently he had warnings which he didnt receive and then that was it, he was banned. We all desperately want him back and he hasnt been treated too fairly so we are doing everything we can to get him back.their have been far worse than him and they have'nt been banned. He's still lurking though and is in touch with some of us. He won't come back under a false name, he wants to come back under his right name happychappy:)

of course nice to be able to share as i have been using everyone elses recipes.
    quite simple really

    2lb washed rosehips
    2lbs sugar
    3pts boiling water.

mince or chop rosehips well then add to pan of 1.5pts boiling water when boiling well turn of heat and leave for 15 mins to infuse.
then strain through jelly bag or muslim .
return the rosehip pulp to pan with another 1.5pts water and boil a second time to get all the goodness out then leave for 15 mins again then strain through jelly bag for a second time.
wash the pan then put both lots of juice into it and reduce by about half. Then remove from heat and add sugar and stir until sugar is disolved then bottle into clean sterilised bottles

hope this is clear as i do not write recipes down

Thank you for this, now me and my buddy need to go look in some hedges :D

I always use greaseproof paper as it saves as much scrubbing on the pans lol
When I rolled mine out I used quite a bit of flour to dry the dough a lil too xxx

Just been on the whoopsie run. I intended to do A's and T's but I walked and got to A's at a very convenient moment ;) so much so that I bought 3 huge bags full plus a bagged Indian takeaway meal for 2 and I barely made it home let alone to T's!!!!!!!! Arms like Popeye right now!! :D Amazing whoopsies too, so a very happy bunny here. (atleast shopping wise!)

Tempted by the Boots (possible!!) 75% off sale tomorrow. No Boots for me today, well except to pick up prescriptions! :)

Will do my best to catch up!! xx :A

Are you positive it is a lifetime ban? Generally they give a ban of a fortnight, then a month, then a complete ban. But like everything on MSE it depends if your face fits. ;) They bang on about rules etc yet they don't seem to apply these rules. They go on about their yellow, red card system but do they actually use it...certainly doesn't seem to have been applied in this instance.

Happy showed me a screenshot but didnt want to post it up as it has his real name on it but it says:

You have been banned for the following reason:
    Language despite multiple warnings

Date the ban will be lifted: Never

following on from the reminicing and also the recycling discussions of yesterday, I thought I would post this topical article!!

Anyone age 35 or over should read this - copied from a friend ... Checking out at the supermarket recently, the young cashier suggested I should bring my own bags because plastic bags weren't good for the environment. I apologised and explained, "We didn't have this green thing back in my earlier days". the clerk responded, "That's our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our... environment for future generations". She was right about one thing--our generation didn't have the green thing in “Our” day. So what did we have back then? After some reflection and soul-searching on "Our" day here's what I remembered we did have.... Back then, we returned milk bottles, pop bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles repeatedly. So they really were recycled. But we didn't have the green thing back in our day. We walked up stairs, because we didn't have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks. But she was right. We didn't have the green thing in our day. Back then, we washed the baby's nappies because we didn't have the throw-away kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy gobbling machine burning up 240 volts -- wind and solar power really did dry our clothes back in our early days. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing. But that young lady is right. We didn't have the green thing back in our day. Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house -- not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of Wales. In the kitchen, we blended & stirred by hand because we didn't have electric machines to do everything for us. When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used wadded up old newspapers to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap. Back then, we didn't fire up an engine and burn petrol just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didn't need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity. But she's right. We didn't have the green thing back then. We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull. But we didn't have the green thing back then. Back then, people took the bus, and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their mums into a 24-hour taxi service. We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn't need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 2,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest pizza joint. They dont even know what a Milk float actually is... and it isnt a drink!

But isn't it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we older folks were just because we didn't have the green thing back then? Please post this on your Facebook profile so another selfish old person who needs a lesson in conservation from a smarty-pants young person can read this!!!:rotfl::rotfl:
