bensonsmum - it may not seem like it now, but things are moving on and they will find out what is wrong with your FiL - he is in the right place now especially (((hugs)))

By the way, it was a false alarm with Mr 3Dogs as the pain of his sciatica came back with a vengeance this afternoon and he is in bed trying to sleep now. Will have to see what the physio says tomorrow afternoon :(

Just got in from MrT  so angry

I bought quite a few bits and a meal deal and put the meal deal through seperate for JTD off the wine.

She scanned it all through and said did you want this as the Meal Deal and I say yes.

She said oh its gone through full price, I will have to get someone to check the items.

So we wait for her to come back and she says sorry you cant have them as a meal deal as the point of sale has been removed!!
What did she mean as I got them all from the £10 meal deal section???

I said they are part of the meal deal online, I know it changes tomorrow but it should still be valid today, she said instore is different!

They offer for me to buy at full price £18.7x, I decline as I dont think I will get DTD from them due to the issues already mentioned about Point of Sale, I think one was duty manager with dark blue jacket on.

What should I have done and were they right? Should I complain to HO?

    Any advice appreciated

    Helen

Haven't been on for a few days so absolutely loads of pages to catch up, if I get time!!

But thought I'd just pop in to let you know that I have been advised that the 75% Boots sale is at W0rth1ng ly0n's f@rm is tomorrow for those that may be interested. I'm annoyed with myself about Boots as got some of the vitamin glitch and then thought I better make it up to a reasonable amount and with the lure of 3 for 2 plus £5 off No 7 I suddenly found I had spent £21!! I know it's not much but I only really wear make up once a week so why did I need the new fangaled BB cream??

I do the same, I have 3 folding crates worth of skin/body care stuff but somehow I always 'need' more!

did you get these in town today, as i had to search to get 6. was tempted to ask for the display thingy for the shots.

Yes I did, about 4pm ish, managed to find exactly 15 between the display on the end near the pharmacy and a few stashed on the vitamin display near the food. Also went to Gbridge, loads of shots (was going to do that "oh you can scan them at full price I don't mind" thing, alas no cheap vits and no visionace either!)

Just had an update from OH reference FIL, now saying its either a stroke or a bad head injury!! wish they would make up their bloody minds. Waiting for a Neuro (wotsit) bloke/woman to come and see him, normal doctor has checked his brain scan and said something not right but doesn't want to say what exactly until he's been seen by the big man!! OH is in bits wants to take his dad home, already talking about moving his bed into the front room and chucking out one of the sofas, i have tried to tell him this won't work as apart from no room, because he can't stand or even use a zimmer frame because his arm isn't working properly we won't be doing him any favours and he really needs to get professional help. Another phone call whilst typing this and they are now saying he might have to be transferred to Frenchhay hospital in Bristol which has the brain surgery specialists. OH breaking his heart as his mum died from a brain injury and was also treated in Bristol this was when he was 15 yrs old, really wish i could be at home but luckily only a couple more days to go and i will be with him.

OH must be beside himself hugs to all

    Dont panic!!!!

I *ahem* work in this field, not for WW though.

Right, so you've done the first thing - checked the reading, and its correct. Now what you need to do is check if the meter is moving when you are not using any water - ie, have you got a leak.

    - Turn off all water in the house - turn off inside stopc0ck if you can, and make sure washing machine/loo/tanks are not filling.

    - take reading from the meter.

    - Dont use any water for at least an hour.

    - Take another reading.

    - If the reading has stayed the same, then there is no leak on the pipe between the meter and the house. If it has advanced, then there is most likely a leak somewhere on the pipework or on the meter itself. The inspector will be able to advise you of this. Most water companies will now subsidise a repair so it is not going to cost you the earth.

    - Other things to check - dripping taps, faulty overflows, ballvalves etc, check the tank/loos are not constantly filling, which will increase your consumption.

If there is a leak, once it is repaired you should be entitled to an allowance for the wasted water - they will take two readings from the meter after the leak has been repaired, to work out your normal usage, and then credit your account for the excess.

So dont worry! Let us know how it goes :)

Thank you so much! I have no idea where the stopcock in the house is  but none of the taps drip and when I looked earlier and nothing was on in the house the little wheelie thing in the middle was still going round most definitely so I will check again in the morning and check it one hour apart like you said.

I assume there has to be a leak somewhere I just don't want to be responsible for the cost of it I suppose, Welsh Water did say exactly what you did about the bill now I remember, about taking readings afterwards to work out proper usage.

Sorry to post this here it's a T3$c0 board after all but I knew you would be the best people to advise me and there's always someone to talk to...I love it thank you everyone!

Just off to read back saw some more answers too...thank you so much:T:T:T everybody
