This is a first for me as I never really share my worries so please bear with me:o
I had a letter today from Welsh Water saying here is your bill and btw we notice your water consumption has significantly increased:eek:...kind of 3 or 4 times what I use, I am on a meter.
Checked the reading and not only was it right but it's also gone up by 10 units,I think it's 10 cubic metres of water in 1 week since it was read:eek:...there are not enough  for this.
The letter says we are sending an inspector round, job number but no time or date so I rang them up...after some faffing the girl seems really cheerful and kind and said it could be a fault with the meter but the inspector will tell you more. I am so worried that it won't be that simple because pretty much everything else involves me paying to fix it and I can't afford that:( I can't see any obvious leaks anywhere but the mud which is under the meter below the pavement is quite wet but I can't see anything leaking and that could be rain although it hasn't rained for 4 or 5 days.
I'm praying to God that the meter is at fault but I am really worried this will be my problem and not theirs, also how the hell will the bill be sorted out?
Have any of you had anything like this before? As I said I usually keep my worries to myself but we are a helpful bunch on here so I feel better already!:T Any advice appreciated....TIA!

Afternoon all, good luck to all those with docs and hospital appointments. Had my fill of the medical profession today!! Took DH to the hospital at 7.15 this morning for his angiogram(up at 6 to put a casserole in the slow cooker). Planned on dropping him off and heading to Ts but he's a bit of a wuss where docs are concerned and asked me to stay . Got him through the initial admission and his needles all in his arm when DD texted to say she had been sick again and needed to stay home from school . Convinced him I wasnt needed at the hospital so came home to get her an appt with the gp. Appt was for 10.40, didnt get seen till 11.30 during which time we had to run to the toilets twice for her to be sick
....full blood tests ordered so trotted off to the nurse, waited half an hour to be seen and shes so flamin dehydrated it took 45 mins and 3 nurses to get blood from her . Been marked as urgent so hopefully results tomorrow. Got her home to bed, sat down with a cuppa to catch up and just got a phonecall from hospital to pick DH up at 2.15 (all went well but no results yet). So 2 patients to look after and no shopping trips for me....ready for bedtime
Oh god what a stressful day, I think someone needs to open the bar for you a bit earlier tonight! (((hugs)))Bootsalebargains wrote: »I have just had the shock of my life, was leaving my mums and as I crossed the road there was a little girl about 2 in pj's & wellies in the middle of the road with a bus coming round the corner, managed to get to her in time. Took her into my mums house to call the police (only people I could think of to call). She couldn't tell us her name but realised a new family had moved in not long ago that had children so I went up to their house, front door was wide open dad hadn't even realised she was gone.
OMG, VERY lucky you were there!! :eek:mrs-moneypenny wrote: »re childhood memories did anyone else have gnashers? those ancient roller skates that had an adjuster on the bottom and a lace up strap across the toes and a buckle strap round your ankle, i never had any but my elder brother did, he would only lend me one so i used to scoot round on one skate, also i never had a new bike wheen my bro outgrew his and got a new one dad cut the rossbar welded it down to look like a girls bike and gave it a coat of paint
I had a pair of these but they weren't new, I think they belonged to my half sister (born '68, I was born '78), very very rickety things they were! I remember I was bought my first pair of 'skates' aged about 7/8, they were those really 80s rollerboots, 4 wheels and a massive great rubber stopper thing on the front!
I was bought in-line roller blades when I was 15 but god I HATED them, never felt so unstable in my life, and I've been ice-skating!!No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023
