Loving the look of the lemon drizzle cake - thanks for the recipe purdita and here's the one for the malt loaf
    Malt loaf

    3 weetabix
    4oz sugar
    4oz raisins or sultanas
1 mug of hot black tea
    2 eggs
    4oz SR flour
    2oz porridge oats

Put weetabix, sugar & raisins in a bowl. Add mug of tea. Leave to soak until cold. Stir in 2 eggs, stir again and add the flour and porridge oats. Mix well and tip into a greased loaf tin. Bake at 180, check after 25 mins, may take longer. Enjoy!
Mine took closer to 35 mins but it's soooo cold in my kitchen I always think that affects cooking times and the oven prob wasn't warmed up enough too lol
    Xx

This looks interesting Have you made it before?
I'm copying all the MSE recipes we're making and storing them in a folder on my lappie.
LOVE the biscuits....will definitely be making these again. Might be nice with some sultanas added too.
My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.

I use whatever I've got to hand!!
It tends to be either utterly butterly, ICBINB, or shops own brand.
I used to always use block marg...but now tend to use the soft stuff and just bung it all in the mixer together.

If I'm doing crumbles I don't even bother weighing all the ingredients...just go on what it looks and feels like :)

    Thanks purdita
Just started baking again after seeing some other people's pictures so thought in would ask what everyone else use
Ps jumble jack the no 2 sponge cake (with jam) was immense - thanks

  • Hello, not Tesco related but I remember seeing a few of you are from Lincoln so just thought I'd let you know if you haven't been on the M&S bra thread that there were a fair few 50p bras and knickers in the Lincoln store still at closing time. Mostly size 30dd but some other sizes too.

Yes thanks, they are my two first ones. I don't copy the pictures though so I don't feel too inadequate when mine turn out less than perfect. :o

Oh Bensonsmum I am so sorry to hear about your FIL, atleast though they are taking it seriously and not just brushing it off and sending him home *hugs* to you and your OH.

You know I think I am cursed, second accident today and neither would have happened had I not been bargain/glitch hunting:

    Thanks for the hugs xx
Your photo reminds me of when i did something very similar, my friend and i were sat in a car park and there were some blokes working on the scaffolding of our local store - it was one of those "diet coke" moments - sun shining, young blokes with tops off working in the sun, just a little bit sweaty - well i was so busy watching them that i ended up reversing the car back into a low rise bollard - the type that sits at knee height and you can't see in your mirrors, told my OH that someone must have reversed into my car whilst we were in getting our shopping!! little did i know he rang up the store and asked them to check their cctv - luckily i was parked in a blind spot - so never got found out :o:o:o
