Arrived at Sainsbury's at exactly the right time for a change!

Got Lindt Santas for 10p each, a box of 12 candy canes for 10p, Frosty Winter Pot Pourri down from £4.50 to 45p, and some rather sweet silver star shaped tea light holders down from £1.50 to 15p.

Guess what my children are giving their teachers this Christmas? - two tealight holders with a couple of cheap tealights, all prettily wrapped. Can't believe I've almost got teacher's Christmas pressies sorted out already. :D

The tiny santas were also 10p each, mint Aero Christmas tree chocs - 10p, large Gold choc coins - 10p, big purple Quality Street chocs - 10p, other choc sets - 10p, napkins - 50p ish.

Yea I was thinking about that but it might be a little too conspicuous:rotfl::rotfl::T

compared to lying on the ground under a bush I would say it might be slightly less conspicuous!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

    Scrums

I've been getting "whoopies" for nearly 18 years now and i'm not even in my mid 30's. Worked in a supermarket as a student so quickly clocked onto the flaws of their IT systems (J Sainsbury).

    /QUOTE]
you young'uns probably don't remember the good old days(?) but it was Sainsburys that started this. In the days before IT systems and 24/7 shopping it was all about quality. Before Sainsbury became a national name they traded on quality and used to clear all their meat products at the end of the week when opening hours at weekends were limited. University students were those usually to be found in the good natured "scrums"that ensued in those days. Ah just reminiscing :) (Artha exits stage left, sighing and fondly remembering "jumpers for goalposts" etc.. silly old fool!)

When I was younger I always had to tag along with my older brother because he had to 'look after' me. More often than not, there would be a shortage of jumpers, so I would end up being utilised by being made to be a goalpost!

I remember being so pleased that my brother was 'including' me in the footie game. :rotfl:

welll my daughter definitely has more clothes than me in her wardrobe.Oh I would love to get a pink fluffy trolley for my daughter where did you get it please?:oI will not buy anymore things for her if tehy're not 1 p:eek:

lol...its scary...my two each have a normal sized double wardrobe...but they have double rails in theres (cos their clothes are still small enough to fit like that!)...and theres still not enough room!!! To be fair, my friend spends a fortune on her DD at Next, then the following year I buy it all off her (about £30 per bin bag!) for DD2....and shoes...dont get me started on how many paiirs of shoes they have (and theyre not 2nd hand!)....I'm starting to feel a bit deprived now...might have to go and spend my £30 next voucher I got for xmas (although if i go I know I'll end up spending it on the kids!).

As for the pink fluffy trolley case, my mum found it in a charity shop and got it for DD1 as she loves purses, handbags etc to store all her junk (ahem..toys) in :)

its similar to this one buthas pink fur round the edge (which to be fair has come off and been glued back on, so would be easy enough to customise your own!)

    well done! :)

if you have a look on halfcost.co.uk under the £1 or less section it has lots of cheap tealights - usually BOGOF so lots for £1 !!

They also have lotsof xmas stuff on buy 5 for the price of 4 which is quite good....not sure how much postage is but sometimes is free if you spend over £10 :) Think these are part of Studio24 and I've used them before and the service seemed fine...quick delivery and well packaged etc hth :)

Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker Xmas Saver!
Feeling carp, just had a phone call from GP and my CRP level's been raised in my last 2 blood tests, 58 two Fridays ago and 45 last Friday.
Thankfully it's not as high as it was in Nov 2010 (150!! supposed to be under 30) when I had to stay in hospital for 8 days but have appointment on Thursday with GP to check everything's fine. Not looking forward to it especially if I've got to go into hospital because it's DS's birthday on Sunday and don't want him to have his 1st birthday after his dad died to be one without either of us
