Guys. I could do with some advice.

My nearest branch of bank is 45 mins drive away. it has just taken me 2 hours though to cash some cheques.

I want to switch but all my direct payments, standing orders etc are all set up with them so if we switched our banks to one with a local branch, would I have to manually let everyone know or do they do everything for you.

I think that natwest are currently offering £100 to switch. At least, that is what the advert said in their window this morning.

    Afternoon everyone

I changed a few years ago to santander and they did it for me however for some reason my mortgage one didnt go through on time so paid that month over the phone HTH

my kids have the toy grabbers that would prob work and we got them cheap from tescos a while ago so if you see them they might be worth a scan! :D

Haha, we have two of those as well (bought from T's)! They don't really play with them so I doubt they would miss one if it found it's way into the car at "T" time! :rotfl::rotfl:

Hello Barleysugar, welcome to the thread

  • Most banks will offer to arrange the dd switch over as part of the Service for new customers, but you still need to check all payments transfer over. Otherwise you could still get non payment charges x

ok totally OT, but do you remember that moneysaving programme that was on TV a while back with the bride who was getting married on a budget? Well if you do can anyone point me in the direction of the balls she put sweets on for her table decorations as i actually liked this idea and thought it would be good for my LOs birthday and then if he works i will do it for my wedding! TIA

Also is the supercrimpers currently on channel 4 now a new one or an old one?

If i remember correctly it she used polystyrene balls you can get them from hobby craft and such like places. HTH :)

If anyone is running short of Comfort Pure it is £1.80 in T and £1.00 in A (750ml) so should give a JTD of 80p meaning 25p a bottle total if you still have the pdf.

Does anyone know if it actually compares? Knowing how selective Mr T can be :D

Just wondering if anyone here does Hackn3y, London? I was not far from the T but hubby convinced me to not go.
Is this T any good? If it is im going to kill him LOL!!

    Hello,
I once ventured to this store and it was terrible! I had a great long list of things to look for and found nothing, the store seemed incredibly messy and disorganised and there seemed to be so many people just standing around chatting in the aisles (including employees). (I know this isn't entirely the store's fault but was amazed by the quantity of standers in the way-ers!) If I remember rightly the store isn't that huge and there was no toy(?) or clothes section. Can't remember if it was toy or not but there were definitely 2 sections that I wanted to visit missing.
Also many of the shelves were low on stock. I ended up buying something I didn't need just to make myself feel like I hadn't wasted the bus journey. I think this was early November so not like it was just before Christmas or anything.

So yeah, I wouldn't recommend it, have only been the once though.

    Hope this helps!:)

All banks will do it for you. Before you decide on which one to transfer to though, (and not knowing your circumstances and if this would apply to you ) check that you don't have to pay a minimum in each month to qualify for the £100
My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.

Actually just thinking of this ... to keep costs down you could make cardboard cones (cereal boxes?) and cover them. This way you wouldn't need to buy (or make) sticks and bases for the balls to stand on.

    Just a thought

(I'll have a go and post a piccie if I'm successfull)
