    Update on FIL, doctor has been out and its definately NOT a stroke - phewwwwww!!!! but OH now taking him back to hospital as Doctor reckons it could be a broken hip, as he can't weight bear and is experiencing excruciating pain in his groin when he tries to stand !! OH rang the hospital and they didn't even xray his leg/ groin area only his shoulder - how stupid is that considering he complained of pain and couldn't weight bear whilst in the hospital!!! so now got to sit tight and wait again for any news...

    Thank you for the pm's really appreciate all your input xxxx

    Ours is slightly different
    One wheelie bin (forgot the colour) is plastic glass and cans
    One bin is paper and cardboard
    Green for garden and food waste - we have been given a food caddy with compostable bags for in the house so it's easily done
    And grey bins for landfill
    We still manage to fill 2 small wheelies a fortnight but we do have 3 large dogs and 7 cats and all associated waste products from them with the litter etc
    Also MCC does not yet recycle yoghurt pots or meat trays so they have to go to landfill
    Xx

    ours is different. again
    we have to seperate tins, glass, plastic, cardboard then paper so 5 seperate boxes every week
    green wheelie household fortnightly
    brown wheelie compostable fortnightly
    but i compostable gets divided into rabbit then hens then compost bin so usually not much left.
    lot of hassle but my sil works on the wagon so tells me of if i dont put it out:)
  • Thanks Locarr - Im silly totally didn't think of checking the site b4 I go - I think defo get some haliborange - if the boys dont like them - I do !:D

    morning Elite! :)

    feeling better today :j For a moment I was playing with the idea to ride a few Boots stores this morning but decided it's not that I'm desperate for anything from there and it will be better if I stay here, tidy up a little, prepare the duck in oranges&honey for dinner, have a lovely bath and wait for bf to take me to T after his interview/trial :D silently hope for a nice glitch at T :o

    :eek::eek::eek: how lovely!

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    :o:o:o we don't recycle either :o:o:o

    Silly excuses but I don't have enough space in the kitchen to keep all the rubbish separate nor enough time to do it properly... :o

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    I don't recycle either for the same reason i barely have room for my bin as it is never mind seperate bins plus i live in an upstair flat so i can't even just open the back door to the garden to dispose of things.

    Morning all,

    Hope your FIL gets better soon bensonsmum. Definitely sounds like a bit more investigating is needed, so many questions are asked in hopspital it is very easy to get confused after the shock of something like he has been through that maybe some symptons were missed?

    Well HC would be proud of me as I had not logged on since friday afternoon and had around 1500 posts to catch up on and the OCD in me, I read every single one while you were all tucked up in bed last night. Luckily someone left the lights on for me, seems no one has turned them off for a few days now, hope the Manager won't have a shock with the electric bill. :eek:

    Got to bed around 5am this morning, but was too tired talk then. Loved all the pics of cooking, nature etc even though was hard work to catch up it was a pleasure. And the thought of everyone living in one big house not sure whether my OH would go for that, he thinks I'm mad enough. ;)

    Not been to Ts for 3 days now, was busy getting DD2 back to uni again, not sure where all the washing suddenly appeared from saturday morning but I did it. After only one week another suitcase full of clean and ironed washing bursting at the seams travelled back yesterday but on the train this time with DD2 in tow. She certainly made the most of her few days back at home after her exams and relaxed with long lie ins and late nights. But she deserved them. Just hoping she passes, gets the results in February.

    Had a lovely roast before she left, a stuffed belly pork roast from the butchers counter at Ts, fed 5 of us for about £1.50 was yummy, not sure what flavour the stuffing was but it was delicious. :)

    Here's hoping for a nice big glitch this week, one of those "global" ones as Nikki calls them. :rotfl:

    A very good morning to all you wonderful peeps' and also to HC if your around.

    Update on FIL is nothing broken!!!, i don't know how - reckon he must be made of jelly or something to fall down the stairs from top to bottom and break nothing!!! but the not so good news is OH has said that his speech isn't right and also dragging his foot when trying to walk rather than lifting it, and also complaining of it feeling as if he has a permanently dead leg. Very badly bruised and obviously shaken up quite badly, apparently they let him go home in the middle of the night and he has spent the night on our sofa as OH couldn't get him up the stairs, also can't stand unaided which means needing help with everything. OH now also really worried as said he can't leave him which means work is out of the question so hes now starting to panic a bit, i know its only day 1 at home and things might improve - hopefully soon, and have told OH to contact the doctors as from what he has said it sounds to me as if he has had a stroke, but OH saying they would have picked up on it in the hospital if he had - but im not so sure. No shopping for me today as it looks like i am going to need every penny i can get my hands on in the next few weeks to cover rent and bills etc. Hope all the rest of you have a great day and get to find loads of goodies xxx

    Ifyou think he has had a stroke then dont mess around with the doctors call for an ambulance, the paramedics that attend first will be able to tell if he has the symptoms of one. Speedy treatment is key with strokes, so I wouldnt waste any time. It is a possibility that he has had the stroke after being assessed in hospital. I cant believe the hospital let him go home like that:(

    Just read ur more recent post, sooo glad he's been looked at, hope the hospital give him the care & attention he needs this time, its maddening isn't it.

    I know someone on here is an Andrex Puppy voucher collector (sorry I can't remember who) and I was just wondering if you'd ever had a code that you just couldn't read? TIA

    Good morning everyone - a nice fresh morning here in N Ireland. Grounds dry - so good !
    Still havn't managed a boots trip yet - we have had a really lovely family weekend - taking the boys out swimming/playground/playzones and fast food:o so am on a mission today - I am wanting to buy some vitamins for the boys if poss - I don't mind having to pay for them and know its not getting the best out of the deal but I'd like to get some cheapo vits cod liver oil for me and DH but can anyone recommend anything that we can get for a 3yr old and 4yr old? Thanks - and any advice on how to make the most from the deal when buying more expensive items?

    I posted on the other thread before I read your post here. The cheapest kids ones are £2.05 for 30 A-Z tablets. I've made a list on the other thread here:

    We've four recycling bins here - brown wheelie for food waste and gardening - blue for plastics etc - and black for normal - then a blue box for glass bottles etc - its really easy to do when you actually know what you're doing ! And though you think it would take time it doesn't take any ! We have smaller bins insidethe house - for food waste and the plastics and glass are put outside once ready ! Simples !

    We only have 3. Grey is household waste, blue for paper, plastics & tins, green for food and garden waste excluding soil. Nothing for glass which is a pain given how many glass jars of baby food I go through.

    The most random recycling I have seen is in Lincolnshire MIL puts glass in with the garden waste!!!!!!!! She says that's what's she's been told to do but not 100% certain she's right on that
    Any yellow bellies care to comment?
    Ps yellow bellies is a local frog? And not an abusive comment
