Me too, because some of it may peel away when the wet paint is applied and you don't want it to be patchy.

shoot me if you want to.

but mse have made it clear that happy wont be coming back. happy himself has said he dosent want to come back. so can we please move on? people on here do have direct contact with him via facebook/email/ebay accounts. and i am sure if you want to contact him yourself just pm these people.

like i said shoot me if you like. i can take it.

I don't think it is something that can be 'brushed under the carpet'....HC made a lot of friends on here...me included....he entertained us with his comments and brought many a smile to our faces.

My OH is very much a 'cutting off his nose to spite himself' sort of person and would have done something very similar to this in the same circumstances (and probably would have regretted it later but would never admit it to anyone). I don't talk much on here and never read much of the nighttime discussions but I don't believe anyone with so much support from so many people can be as bad is being said. Perhaps some mediation between HC and the Forum Managers is needed to help resolve the situation - and ultimately get HC back with his friends.

    Well said MJWPTC

Such a shame Happy Chappy is gone... This thread is like a little family for lots of people here come back to find comfort when something goes wrong in life.
HC suffers from Aspergers Syndrome (visible clearly for Mods and all users) and, as life in the real world may be really stressful for him, he probably found this thread more comforting than anyone else here. He spent so much time here, put his heart and soul into this thread. Plus he had his little family on here with his cyber mummy and cyber granny to have an eye on his behavior.

On the other hand, it is true that it is a public forum, good name of Mr Lewis (who’s a hero) and non-appropriate stuff shouldn’t be on this forum. That’s why we’ve got Moderators! Yay! (Hope this policy is applied in the same strict way on EVERY MSE thread though.)
HC may not like Moderators for picking on him for no apparent reason (may be from his point of view) and the Moderators don’t like HC for making their job more difficult. (I know it is a difficult job as so many people can be offended by different things.)

I do believe this issue can still be positively resolved by communication. (As any argument as long as both sides keep talking).

Anyway, whatever happens I do wish Happy Chappy good luck in real life. This thread won’t be the same without you.

    Good afternoon guys

I am an old fashion girl at heart and can`t help thinking that any emails sent to this forum by any user should be kept confidential. If I had a problem on here I feel that the way this issue has been dealt with would put me of off contacting the MSE forum for help or advise.
    Sincerely

Sorry but thats where you are quite wrong! Theres plenty of tesco discussion threads....this one was different, it was different because it was a little community. A place where tired or ill people found some solace and comfort from the friendship of other people on the thread.

It was said earlier that this is the longest HC has ever lasted on a forum, that puts into perspective his difficulties but also speaks volumes about the little community that was built on this thread.

here here.... Im getting to feel like both sides have become stuborn and "what I say goes" sort of feeling...

    Authority springs to mind!!!!

Why oh why dont you just try and discuss it between you?? HC and Mods, you need your heads banging.. Its like playground play.. "If you dont, I wont either"... one sulks and so does the other!!!!

Come on!!! life is too short xx

Totally agree. I think happy is a very proud man, he will not apologise nor should he for doing something which is commonplace. I think the mods are on a power trip. They will never back down and admit that they made a mistake. They have listened to a few who have complained, so they say, why don't they now listen to the majority. Reduce his ban to one month, give him another chance. If he breaks the rules again, they can ban him again

Shoot me if you want but ........... where do we draw the line? What would have happened if a new user had come on this thread and used the kind of language used by HC? We would have been crying for the mods to delete the posts and remove the user. The fact that none of us (well none that we know) went running to the mods shows that allowances were made for HC given his contributions and his condition. What is happening now is that we are letting our personal feelings cloud our judgement.

I loved HCs jokes, his witty banter, his trips on the bus but there were times when I cringed. I know others have said they hear that kind of language in the real world but two wrongs don't make a right. Just because a 13 year old hears words like C or F doesn't mean it's ok. I swear but not in front of my kids and I scowl at those who do. I can't control the great unwashed but MSE can. This forum is a public forum for which we pay no money. We have to abide by rules in all walks of life and this forum is one of them.

I have been on the receiving end of the mods in the past but I've moved on once I calmed down. Keeping on discussing this will not help matters (and yes I know I'm prolonging it by posting). Unfortunately a line has to be drawn somewhere. I know HC isn't lying but what would happen if a new user came on and said they has Aspergers, Autism or Tourettes and therefore could they have a by-ball on swearing? It hurts because we've all gotten to know HC but unless he can apologise and change his ways then the mods have made their decision. It would be great if we could self-police this thread but we can't.

I'm signing off now as I dread to think of the backlash from this but HC please know, I think you're a great chap and I wish you well in case this is the end of your posting days.
