My DD2 is autistic (non-verbal) - 5 years old. The last 5 years have been a constant battle to say the least and I can't remember the last time I had a full night's sleep. She can go to sleep at 9pm and then wake at 1-2am and be up for the rest of the night. My DS is currently awaiting a diagnostic appointment as we suspect that he has Aspergers Syndrome.

What a shame you felt the need to post that on the public forum but didn't bother to do a little check on asbergers BEFORE you actually banned the user when your warnings went unanswered. You also knew members of his family posted here but didn't take the time to speak to them either.

Interesting too that you chose to cicumvent the spell checker and use the F word on here.

Martins site really has let itself down with this I'm afraid. He is supposed to be a person who champions the causes of those who often can't fight for themselves for whatever reason yet on this occasion HC has been treated with no consideration at all.

This whole business leaves a very nasty taste in the mouth I'm afraid.

i feel for you my friend has spent 3k over the last year trying to get help, private doctors reports etc, she joined a group on facebook and finds a lot of help support and advice on they will try and find the link or if you pm me i can put you in touch with her

Well said. There are plenty of highly aggressive and downright nasty posters who troll these boards with apparent impunity. But when someone with a disability circumvents the spell censor........in a nice way I might add as non of the bad language was ever actually aimed at anyone, it was simply 'pub talk' then someone comes down on them like a ton of bricks.....and then breaks all their own rules by discussing it on the forum, circumventing their own censor and posting private emails onto the forum without consent.

It's shameful.

I'm saying no more on the matter.....so dissapointed with this whole episode its hard to put it into words.

We all know to some small extent what the effects HC's condition has upon his life , but the problem I have defending him is that he knew exactly what he was doing by leaving a space between the offending words .
He never left spaces in words that weren't banned from use on the forum .

In my mind this was the action of someone who knew full well what they were doing even if drunk , ill or sober .

My opinion and I expect no thanks .

Agreed - its defensive mechanism to protect oneself after being hurt. Aspergers is a misunderstood condition
