any chance of no more threads about H CRAPPY and lets get on with more important things in life. I am sure H C will rise again under another name (hopefully not)
I just clicked on your profile and checked your previous posts. I don't think you've actually GIVEN anything here at all. Thats a shame, if you had GIVEN rather than just TAKEN you might feel a little more of the community here.0 -

Why resort to name calling? HC used language that was inappropriate at times which I do not condone but you are using offensive terms directly to this user and putting it in capitals too. Not cool.:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

Well so far today, ive noticed one persons user name is starred, hiding and obvious epletive, as well as two other members starring out swear words in their posts.
Just my observations. Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.0 -
Shoot me if you want but ........... where do we draw the line? What would have happened if a new user had come on this thread and used the kind of language used by HC? ..........................
I'm not going to shoot you, and its good to hear a contrary opinion that well argued.
IMO though I think you are putting too much emphasis on his language. How many times in life do we meet someone who swears like a trooper but is a genuinely nice person?
I believe HC was indeed one of those people. Lets face it, he never actually swore AT anyone, his language was just colourful. I don't think he ever actually abused anyone in any way shape or form, and if a complaint was put to him, ie his jokes, he quickly removed them and in the end stopped posting them at all.
I'd support the mods wholeheartedly if...........
1. They actually came down as hard on posters who swear AT or use distasteful expressions toward other people to deliberately put them down or make them feel worthless as happens all too often on other threads.
2. They could show us (they seem happy to share certain things with us so why not) that they made a genuine attempt to sort things out with HC before he was banned.
I'd even shut up then....now theres an offer that can't be taken lightly0 -

I am an old fashion girl at heart and can`t help thinking that any emails sent to this forum by any user should be kept confidential. If I had a problem on here I feel that the way this issue has been dealt with would put me of off contacting the MSE forum for help or advise.
Sincerely
Leenie
I do agree about the confidentially aspect.
I don't want to say too much as so much has already been said but this has given our happy little thread a serious & unnecessary knock, we don't profess to just be a primarily a Tesco grabbit thread (if you haven't read the first thread) we have become a very supportive community its a shame for that to be ruined0 -
Ok, I have had to resort to lurking for the past wk as my dad was rushed into a&e on sunday morning where for only the grace of god, he did not die.
Thank you Motherbear and Kymie for asking how he has been, I did see your posts but unfortunately had no time to reply until now.
On the subject of HC, which I have no problem of bringing up, I for one have found this thread like a little family to me and wouldn't be without it. There are many of us on here that feel that way and share similar problems, which is why we can all understand what each other is going through and help each other out, where our other friends and family may not be able too.
For example, I know that I am definately not the only person on here with friends or family in hospital and from some of the responses I have had, I know that some of you have personal experiences with both mine and my dads health conditions.
It is also somewhere to get away from some of the realities of real life and say things that under normal circumstances we may not feel able to talk about.
This thread has been my lifeline for the past 5 months and HC has been a big part of that.
He brought a lot to this thread and to me personally. He has always been kind and helpful. For example, if it wasn't for his help, I would not be able to share pics of all my finds with you all. He has also brought awareness to people about aspergers, which can been seen from some of the recent posts. Which will hopefully mean that when encountering anyone else with a similar condition we may now all have a greater understanding of what it is like for them.
I know that having any kind of medical condition does not excuse anyones behaviour, but I think when upset a lot of us would lash out. Then once we'd had the opportunity to think things through and calm down, we may feel differently.
On the subject of younger people reading this thread, it is surely up to their parents to decide what they have access to on the internet and when most of HC's comments that may be close to the mark (along with some other posters too) are posted in the early hours, the surely not allowing youngsters to view the nightime postings, may be a more sensible option.
I too was surprised that a lifetime ban was put in place and would have thought a temporary suspension to act as a warning, may have been a more appropriate first course of action. This in itself would ensure that HC actually rec'd the warning, unlike the messages sent that he may not have.
I also find it very difficult to make friends and am very often misunderstood and thought of as rude or difficult, so I know how HC feels in a situation like this. But HC as you have become so comfortable of this thread, to the extent that you even felt happy to come out and post your piccie, it would be such a shame to lose all of that and all of your friends on here just because right now you feel angry, HC I hope that given some time you will change your mind about wanting to be back here and will do whatever it takes to join us again

Any offence is not intentional, I'm really quite harmless0 -
Right going now,I would just like to add that posts do not have to contain swear words to be offensive

Quite right JJ and I think its the fact such things go on around the MSE boards seemingly unchallenged that grate so much with people here.
Personally I find this kind of name calling post far more offensive than someone using the F word with an asterisk in it in a joke or general sentence.0 -
If that post is offensive to you then just report it.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
