What does it taste like please?

mild celery flavour, very 'earthy' (it is a root veg), texture of potato (and can be cooked as such).

If you have any left over, we love it raw grated into homemade coleslaw, or just on its own with a mayonnaise/wholegrain mustard dressing... :D

I have a large Celeriac in my veg box but i have no idea what to do with it, has anyone got any recipes? thanks
  • Celariac, leek and potato soup is my daughters favourite.

Chop an onion and some garlic, a couple of leeks, a couple of spuds and a peeled celariac (or half a celariac if its huge, though you do lose a lot when you peel it).
Boil in some chicken stock for about 20 mins, then blend.
If you're not on a low fat regime, you can sweat all the veg in some butter for a bit before you add the stock.
    Yummy!!:j:j

    Hi everyone:D

I received a celeriac in my veg box and whilst it looks like a veg from outer space Im sure its lovely.

Ive had a quick google and the only recipes I can find are for soup so does anyone have any other recipes to use it?

    also can it be frozen?

and whats the best way to cook it? a lot of the sites I found mention if you don't cook it properly it can be bitter but as the recipes I found are for soup it seems that you have to boil it. Is that the case or can it be baked etc?

Sorry for all the q's and many thanks
