Can anyone describe what it tastes like/is similar in taste too? I have been thinking of trying this for a while but was a) not sure what to do with it which was partly because of b) didn't know what it tasted like!
Am assuming from the previous posts that it is similar to a potato/parsnip type root vegetable taste?
Thanks!

Celariac tastes mildly of celery.
Another option:
Peel the celariac and cut in to chunky chip sized pieces, keeping them in acidulated water.
Cook in boiling water for about 3 minutes (should retain some firmness, if they go completely soft then mash!)
Drain and cool
Serve with garlic flavoured mayonnaise0 -

On the TV Masterchef program last week the veg man said that you can do anything with celeriac that you can do with potato.
So I'm going to try celeriac chips. ...............
Parsnip chips are fantastic with roast beef!Watch out for the sandbag.0 -

hi there
Its realy nice raw... but you could add it to mash like swede, or layer it in a dish with sliced potatoes and onions and bake with a bit of stock, you can add it to stews etc too-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
You can cut it into chips, toss it with some olive oil, salt & pepper (or paprika/herbs/chili as you like) and roast it, it makes a nice alternative to normal oven chips and because you're not frying it it's healthier. Or make celeriac remoulade: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1597/quick-celeriac-remoulade.jsp2015 comp wins - £370.25

Isn't celeriac the one that you can poach in milk to get rid of the bitterness that it can have?0
