Tesco price increases

My mother has just rang me from Tesco to say Tesco value baby shampoo has gone from 5p to 9p. No doubt they hope noone will notice an extra 4p.
I wouldn't be suprised if it creeps up in price again soon, a few pence each time so noone notices or so they think.
She also added "everything else in here is bloody expensive though!"'Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves'0 -

Back to 66p now. Presumably to match ASDA who, in the meantime, have stuck the price up to 75p.0 -
Tesco chilled soya milk has gone from 99p to £1.10 this week! A couple of pennies I could cope with, but 11p is taking the proverbial!!0

Tescos value salmon paste 22p is now 32p0

Tescos premium lager x4 from local Metro, 03.01.12 -£2.96, 10.01.12- £3.11, 13.01.12- £ 3.63.
Who are they trying to kid? Guaranteed great saver deal to happen within the next 2 weeks!
Supermarkets are destroying the high street. Most people tended not to notice price increases in supermarkets, although in our dire financial state, thankfully more people are. Even so a 20-50% increase on any item can not be put down to mere increases in fuel costs or production costs as they would claim.
Many years back if you went to your local fruit and veg shop or stall and an item had increased by 50% you would tell them where to go, find another cheaper stall and never use that place again. Sadly, as the destruction of the high street continues, the alternatives are harder and harder to find.
Of course all companies need to make a profit, but when Tescos takes £1 out of every £7 spent in this country you have to think that this is not just a simple supermarket, but a massive powerhouse with far more influence on ordinary peoples lives than people think.0 -
For me and my fiance we have to have fresh food and can't have the cheaper reformed meats because of my fiance's food intolerances to yeast, milk and eggs. an average weekly shop for us is anywhere between £150-£200 and that is just for the two of us just buying for 3 meals a day and we have no waste we eat everything we buy. I know farm shops are alot cheaper but i can't get to them it is a 20 minute drive to my nearest one.
That is a lot per week. I shop for a family of 4 for around £60-£70 per week.
I did my online shop with Tesco tonight and noticed price increases. Tesco Beef Steak mince £1.90, was £1.77 this time last week. Tesco Luxury soft toilet roll £1.90 up from £1.75.
In the last few months Kenco Rapport 200g has gone up from £3.98 to £4.68. They used to do an offer of 2 for £5.00 but now it's usually 2 for £6.00 instead.
January is the hardest month for everyone so it annoys me that prices have gone up straight after christmas. I shop with them though to get the Clubcard vouchers and money off petrol.0 -

Yes, maybe the cost price have gone up, but for it to have gone up exactly 16p at every supermarket at exactly the same time stinks of price fixing.0 -
Orange juice has also gone up for multibuys.
Last week, was £1`each of 4 for £3.50. Now it is £1 or 3 for £3! (with a special offer SEL!)
I have a strong feeling that this was put in this manner so people would think the price of the multisave went down.
It is cheaper as asda and is one product that regularly gives the difference voucher.0 -
Tesco like to play yo-yo with their prices.
Here's just one example :
Tesco Value box 150 white tissues :
Last week 45p , today 68p a huge 51 % increase !!
Any further examples ??0
