Tesco price increases
Hi All
I dont know if maybe im imagining this to be worse than it is but in my tescos since christmas everything seems to have shot up in price. Most things i buy are value or mid range tesco own brand or the discount brandS (where they are actually cheaper) alot of things have gone up 15p - 30p a not insignificant rise in my shopping bill. has anyone esle had this in thier stores ? any examples welcome lets name and shame.
Eggs (box of 18) were £1.25 now £1.45 20p UP
Daisy 30 wash box was £3.00 is now £3.29 29p UP
tescos cola was 48p is now 60p 12p UP
in store bread was 1.05 is now 1.20 15p UP
tomato soup was 17p is now 24p 7p UP
(value brand)
Im sure there are more but these are the ones i remember off the top of my head. It annoys me that they must think we dont notice these things
whilst they proudly display a banner outside proclaiming the new year price drop !!!
And dont even get me started on the stuff thats the same price but smaller packets !!

Sales gloom as Tesco reveals its worst Christmas for decades0 -
I have noticed this as well. Not very long ago value baby wipes were 26p now they are 46p.
Value custard creams were 30p now 49p.
Value beans were 26p now 31p.
TraceyOfficially debt free :j0 -
I think the value/basic ranges might be loss leaders ( remember the 1p tins of beans MANY moons ago..lol..)
have they realised people are now down shifting their brands and they were making less money on the lower non branded stuff, so now they are creaping the prices up to try and make up for what they are losing on the branded stuff?Work to live= not live to work0 -

I actually paid 23p for the value baby wipes, so for me they doubled in price just as I was about to stock up on them. So I didn't. Shocking.0
