No, you're not imagining it. Rather puts the 'Big Price Drop' into context.0

To be fair it's not only Tesco but seems to be Sainsbury's as well. I bake a lot and get through a lot of eggs so I stocked up before Christmas. It used to be 69p for 6 now it's shot up to 79p
Even unrefined caster sugar has gone up in the last 2 months.

Tesco are by far the worst offenders though by a long mile only time I use them is to stock up on anything on offer I want and veggie stuff as mine has a bigger choice
I rarely use them now. I shop at Sainsburys and Aldipurpledonkey wrote: »To be fair it's not only Tesco but seems to be Sainsbury's as well. I just use my local one for the occasional items you forget like milk ,butter, cat food. Many items there seem to have shot up in price in the last week .
My vow this year is to make more use of Home Bargains, Poundstretcher and Aldi, who I have always done a good bit of shopping with. Tesco's will be waiting some time before I do a big shop with them. Even Asda is better than them for a big shop.
Time to vote with your feet and purses folks. Tesco have been taking over far too much retail space in this country for far too long!0 -
When I did post about wipes someone mentioned
tesco -tool wipes down from 80 to 64 and acharged more for same wipes think they now 1.20 for own brand.
The value wipes 46p-annoying as last jan were 17p
whats worse is big 4 have copies they all 46 p asada, morrisons and sainsburys
noticed tesco metro value fromage frais up 6p from 44p to 50p
hoping others dont copy but big 4seem to be pricefixing their value lines.
I have ditched value toiliet roll as went up to £1.46 for 4 now got lids 10apack £1.74.
somethings in lidls working out cheaper or better value than value lines.
getting frustrated as cant downsize from their value range as that is the bottom!

It seems to me that shops are putting up prices all over the place at the moment....0

I didn't buy much yesterday but did notice the Tesco cola up to 60p. Last time they did this it was then "on offer" BOGOF within a few weeks. Soda crystals were 90p! Can't remember how much they were last time I bought some but I'm sure that's nearly doubled. Their prices are up and down so often they ought to rename themselves Yoyo, lol.0
