Been buying "Blue Stripe" tomato sauce for ages, paying about 26p a bottle. Just back from T's and it's now 49p! bit of a jump?0

Tesco's own washing powder (the one in the bag) ... was £1.67
NOW £2.59
Snickers choc bars BOGOF - there were 6 in a pack... now 4 in a pack for the same price !!!
You have to be so vigilant !!0 -
I have abandoned Tesco due to these massive price hikes. I really started to notice 10p and 20p jumps, frequently.
Now get some stuff in Sainsburys (which has shocked me by working out cheaper and better quality - basics fruit and veg is lovely) and Lidl and my shopping has dropped by around £30 a week - and we are still eating lots of fresh meat, fruit and veg.
The final nail in the coffin with Tesco for me was (and this may sound silly) their Value Choc Biscuits (as nice as McVities IMO) jumping up 10p in price over night.0 -

Like everybody else I am aware of what the big stores are up to, increasing prices in order to make price drops look more impressive, saying certain items are 'unavailable' in order to shift other brands etc. I shop on-line because I have to and admit there's probably very little to choose between the major supermarkets, however some of Tescos price rises are just so unbelievable as to almost (only 'almost') render me speechless! The latest, which I think went up last week, was for a 500g jar of Cafe Blend coffee whitener - on sale for many months at 99p (much, much cheaper than the next cheapest brand, Tescos own) this has now, in one single leap, gone up to . . . . £2.34 - a rise of £1.35! I know this is just one of many incredible price hikes, but this is one that I have spotted recently (well it almost leapt off the screen at me). When shopping around isn't an option (and for many it isn't), do we just have to grin and bear it? They get away with it because they can.0

Theyv stops selling 18p lemonade in ours to get you to pay 60p for the next one up. Stops selling 88p frozen sausage rolls so you pay £1.70 for the higher up brand and increased the ketchup and mayonnaise prices0

These days I really don't bother with their so called roll back prices . Their tickets are really misleading.
I saw on their FB page posted by a customer on their New Lower Price ticket for fig rolls at 44p was 39p :rotfl:0 -
I do market shopping where I can now and the eggs which are £1.20 for six on our market taste a lot better then those that Tesco, even the market grapes which are full of flavour unlike Tesco which is bland.
I have to travel a distance to Asda because our city won't have one built and the prices are much better.0 -
Tesco brand juice used to be 3 for 4 quid on multibuy but it is 2 for 2.50 now. Tesco danish bread previously 55p is now 59p. I do my online shopping through mysupermarket and have realised that there are certain price differences between the supermarkets. I wont be surprised if we find out that these chains are colluding to keep prices up!0
