1kg of Tesco's own cat biscuits. Was £1.13 when first brought out last month, then went to £1.19 the next time I went to buy it and it is now £1.24
Seems to be going up in price every two weeksApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
Got the vouchers to spend, probably my last trip to Mr. T.ever.
Inconvenient anyway and Lidl seem to price match.
Though they do say..... never say never.0 -

I had a voucher as well so went to Tesco for a shop. It's been a long time. A couple were talking about unbelievable price hikes of the fruit juices. The woman told the man to "complain to the manager" but I couldn't help feeling they would be better off just not shopping there in future. I told her they have the biggest market share implying that they currently think they can charge what they like. I tried to tell her about this website but got the name wrong ooops!!!'Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves'0 -

I am new to this thread and have been reading it with interest
.
We are a family of 4 (DS2 is 7 months old so doesn't count as a full person in terms of food shopping at the moment) and have been shopping at Tesco for years. I do online shopping as I am able to budget better this way because when I go into the shop I easily tend to overspend by £20 or so on unecessary items.
Anyway, our weekly food shop budget is £85 and I was spending around £75 a few weeks ago but all of a sudden the prices in Tesco have rocketed .
I did a food shop last Thursday which came to £87 and by Tuesday had little left, so from next week I am going to try Aldi to see how much I spend. Also the fruit and veg in Tesco seems to be going off after 2-3 days!!
This is definitely a thread I will be keeping an eye on.

Yesterday I took my clementines out of the shopping bag when I got home and found that one of them had already gone mouldy!'Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves'0 -

Hope you took them back ! Ive taken back chicken before that had been in my fridge a day or two but when i came to use it , it had gone off even though it was still within it's use by date. I got a refund no problem at all.0 -
Researchers at Warwick University have come up with this gem:
Over an 8 year period Tesco changed the price of Dolmio microwave sauce 88 times, cutting it 69 times - 40 of which were reductions of 1p - and on other occasions raising it by as much as 10p.
Price cutting campaigns can be a clever way of increasing the cost of a weekly shop. Many items are reduced by a penny or so while a smaller number of items are increased in price by larger amounts.0 -

If I drove I probably would have but to walk there takes nearly an hour (I hate buses plus walking is my exercise) and I didn't feel it was worth it for one mouldy clementine. I only went there in the first place because I had a good voucher to use. Won't be going again though. Completely understand where you are coming from though.'Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves'0
