Does anyone else's Mam forget your name!

My mum does it too - has done for years.
Although I'm the first born, my name always comes last in the list of names.
I suppose it's not too bad when she just lists my sisters' names. It's when the brother's name gets in there too....
She calls my OH by my BIL's name, and vice versa. Sometimes she calls them both by another name entirely... :rotfl:
My son gets called 'hen'; my daughter gets called 'son'. Everyone else gets called 'what's his/her name....?'
...
It used to bother me a lot. I've learned to accept it (ever since I found myself mixing names up the same way...

Guilty here too! Constantly get my son's names mixed up and call my DD and DGD by the dogs name. My gran did it to me so often I would answer to anything I knew she meant me!! Strangely my mum was always spot on.Slightly bitter0

My mum does this all the time. She seems alright with everyone else's name though! She used to call me random names when she forgot mine (petal, chicken, etc). Ever since my niece was born 9 years ago she tends to call me her name.
I'm probably just as bad and don't even realise I'm doing it.0 -

I had an aunty who used to call me Carole (mams name) and call my mam Sharon (my name)
In the end we stopped correcting her and just answered!
Now my mam often calls me my sisters name but again, I rarley bother to correct her for it I just let it slide

Ha my nana was like this - I got my cousins, sister, dad, mam, uncles names and even the dogs before mine! :-)0

My mum has actually never gotten me and my sister's names mixed up as far as I can remember, but my dad is terrible for this! (He also doesn't know when my sister's birthday is and has to be reminded every year, but I think this may just be a male thing)
MIL and FIL both get my OH and his brother's names the wrong way round. As they call OH's brother by the long version of his name, they'll often realise halfway through and correct themselves ... so I now refer to OH as Christo-Alex to annoy him! :rotfl::www: Saving for a deposit - Target £30k by 24/03/14 (30th Birthday!) :www:

I do it all the time,
I have 2 boys and a girl, the boys are now in their 20's and have left home with children of their own and daughter is 12.
Even though she is the only one left at home I still sometimes call out her brothers names before I get to hers.
Then whenever I'm with my younger son and granson I get their names muddled as well.
They both begin with a J and I quite often stutter jjjjjjjj while I work out which name I need to be saying.0 -
My Mum does this all the time - I wouldn't mind but I'm an only child!0
