Does anyone else's Mam forget your name!

i have 4 kids and generally have a little cycle through the names when addressing them

they dont get quite as upset as the OH does though, if you accidently call her an ex

my mum runs through our names before getting to the right sister its funny though when she phones you and says "who did i phone " she has nine grand kids and often gets then muddled up she calls my husband my bil name and vice versa and ive started to go through the names to call my 3 ,when we were little it used to annoy us but as we got older we find it funny

my dad solves this problem by calling everyone darling, all of his partners names started with the same letter so it must have been tricky.

My mother-in-law, who has dementia, calls all the grandchildren and pets "little'un", presumably because she genuinely has no idea what their actual name is.

My Mum did it all the time -I'd get called by my Dad's name -then my brother's before she'd get to mine -or she'd just be shouting for me and I'd be ignoring her and when she came to find out why I was ignoring her I'd have to point out my name wasn't Sidney or Jonathan and if she'd used the RIGHT name I'd have responded
(She only had two kids so it really wasn't that hard )

I do this, I have 6 G.chidren and 3 G.G.children and 2 daughters I even have problems on the phone as my elder daughter and her daughter sound the same, I now have to ask 'who am I am talking to?
Been doing this for years so can't now use my old age as an excuse!

My Mum does this too. The male names get recited in a list til she gets to the right one. I get called my sister's name, followed quickly by mine (sounds like one strange female name) - my sister gets called by the first syllable of my name followed by hers (flows better off the tongue that way).

And now the rot has started for me! When the family are all together I mix up my husband and brother's name cos they start with the same letter. Somehow just can't help it!

i named my kids with names starting with the same letter. nightmare! i just call the big one and little one most of the time!

my mum always has mixed up our names. claimed she never would when her mum mixer up hers and her sisters names all the time.

my mum doesnt do it so much anymore but my boys its constant and i get a row for picking their names lol.

To add to the lengthy list, both of my parents and MIL do this. Seems to be quite normal.

My mum does it and so do I - I thought it was an age and baby brain thing lol. I am 31 and pregnant wth number 2, I have done it since becoming pg with number 1......my brain just isn't the same now.....
