Does anyone else's Mam forget your name!

My Mam has done this ever since we were small so it's not an age related thing! She will go through every name in the family before she gets the right one :rotfl: Sometimes she still gets it wrong. She will ask why we aren't answering her and we say we will when you remember our names! She will often say to me " our Louise rang this morning" to which I reply I am Louise and I didn't ring So is my Mam just strange or do others do this?

Errata

Many mothers do it, and they often include the names of the dog and cat as well.

You're Mums not strange at all, I've done the same thing since my 3 were younger and my Mum went through all 5 of us before she got the right one... its just one of those 'Mum' things..

I do it and usually Inc my hubby and a couple of cats before I get to the right on. I only have 2 kids and am in my 30's so no excuse at all. Must be a mum thing

yes, mine does it all the time! infact recently shes caused an argument because of it lol.

She was telling me our Simon was being awful to her, had a go at her, spoke to her really nastily and she was really upset... queue me ringing Simon to see what he was playing it Simon denied it so i asled was he calling Mum a liar -- he said he was. So I was getting more irritated that he couldnt just own up and say it was him....anyhow, turns out it was Matthew who Mum was talking about not Simon :T:T:T

Shes worst with the grandkids.. She regulary through 6 names before she got me eldests name right (wouldnt mind but she sees them all every single day lol!)

Yep, I do this too - usually throw in a couple of extra random names for good measure :rotfl:

I do it! I have 4 girls and I have to admit that I go through every name before I get to the right one. I even call my eldest my sisters name
