my mum does it, and now do it. I've even started adding my nephews names into the mix dispite me having 1 boy and one girl.
back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed
  • I'm an only child yet my Dad still struggles with my name at times. He gets me mixed up with his sister and refers to us by each others name. If we're together we'll both respond and he points to which one he wants.

Im amazed how widespread this is but thank you for sharing...everyone!

I dont thnik its anything to do with baby brain as Im not a parent or pregnant
I dont think its a female thing, i think its an everyone thing...

Maybe the minute you stop being irritated by it you start doing it yourself! Subconscious of course :rotfl:
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

My husband got called Iris by his Mum loads of the time! That was the name of her sister who died young.
I sometimes get my dog and my childrens names mixed up. I told my daughter that she could lick the bowl now the dog had finished!I got the names the wrong way round of course but daughter still remembers that one even though it was years ago!

My SIL will regularly screech 'TREVOR!!!!' when younger BIL Joe (18yrs old) is winding her up.

Trevor is the dog, and regularly gets screeched at for being a PITA so it's understandable!

for some reason I always call GS2 by GS1s name. the names are not remotely alike, the boys are not even brothers and they are 8 years apart - and its embarrassing as I seem to be the only one who gets the grandtwins (identical) names right 99% of the time! even thier mum cant do that!

I used to be really upset by this when I was younger as both my parents did it. However, now I have 3 kids of my own I go through all their names, my niece & nephew's too, before I get to the right one.

Interestingly, when my DH is with his sister (not very often as they live a fair distance away) she calls everybody around her by DH's name...even her own kids and husband!!:rotfl:
