Hope Moxie is well again soon. Ouchy vet bill though. We cant get insurance any more for our monster as he had an argument with a van on our quiet road, he lost a back leg and one of his front legs was crushed, this happened five years ago, he's now 18 years old and has us wrapped round his little paw!! :rotfl:Happy riding on two or three"We're not complete idiots, we do have some parts missing!" :doh:0

Good news Mox happy for you. 1 down, 8 to go! Lennymoxie wrote:Yes the news is that he has dislocated a hip. He has had a general today and they have pushed it back and he is now comfortable. However, apparently cat's hips that push back easily can also pop out again easily. So they are keeping him all weekend with a bandage on. I may be able to get him on Monday, or it might be Tuesday. Money money! The estimated bill is now nearer to £400! And they won't deal directly with Direct Line because of the backlog, but they will let me pay on installments. I have to talk to them about it on Monday/Tuesday when I go and fetch him. Thanks to everyone for your good wishes. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. The vet just rang to give me an update. He's comfortable and has had some food, which is good, but the little devil has managed to get his bandage off! They're not going to put it back on for now as the hip has stayed in place. They'll see how he does tomorrow and I should be able to bring him home on Monday. My neighbour is a vet nurse and is going to lend me a cage for him to stay in for a few weeks. This is moneysaving, as the vet was going to rent me one - more expense. However I know he's going to hate it, he's such an active cat normally and loves going outside.Total debt May 2005 £83,232

Well, that sounds like he's feeling better, and thats good! But, he has to be in a cage? Poor little mite. If they're not letting him go with just one of those big collars that stop them picking at the stitches, he sounds like he's been really lucky to get off this "lightly", awful as is what's happened (that doesn't make sense. Sorry).
Mine were only ever away from me for one night - when I had them neutered, and one of them just before she died, so the vet could put her on a drip and see if she perked up. It must be really hard for you to have moxie away for so long, hard for him too.

Yes it sounds awful him being in a cage, like a wild animal! But it's necessary so he stays put and doesn't jump around too much. I can put his bed in there and his food/water and litter tray, so he'll be all cosy - I hope!Total debt May 2005 £83,232
