So sorry to hear about your beastie. We have 8, all insured with Direct Line, and they've always either reimbursed us within 10 days (minus the excess) or dealt directly with the vet. I can't fault them, to be honest - we think they're excellent.

What a shame, poor little Moxie. Our cat Chillie was in a car accident last year and had fractured a rear leg. He stayed at the vets a few days before they operated (it was over bank holiday). He was in a cast for quite a few weeks and we were told not to let him climb on anything. As he started getting better, this became almost impossible! He wasn't allowed outside as he would get his cast wet, unfortunately that is where he wanted to be!

My son ended up covering his cast with a plastic bag held on by Velcro, we said he was putting his little wellies on. He would then stand outside with him for ages till Chillie decided he would come back in.
It was around 2 months before the cast was removed, and we were all more than pleased.

All in all, the whole procedure cost around £400, and we weren't insured.
At least, you won't be out of pocket.
    Hope Moxie soon recovers

    Thinking about you hun x

I hope Moxie is soon feeling better.

We very nearly cancelled the insurance for our dog, then a week or two later she had to have a tumour removed from her ear.

I dont know what made me keep the policy, but I'm so glad we did.
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches

I hope everything is OK. I dread the day when something happens to one of ours.

Oh poor you and poor Moxie cat. :grouphug: Sounds like he is in safe hands though and they are taking no chances which is good. Glad you have insurance - last thing you need is to be worrying about soaring vet bills at a time like this - at least you know what the expense will be (the excess).

Hope there is good news about Moxie in the morning. Do keep us posted. :)

Sending good feelings to Moxie for a quick recovery.

I love my dog and would be devastated if anything happened to him.
