  • Oh poor moxie I feel for you! I had to take my kitty Dolly to the vet this week - £65 smackeroonies. But what can you do? I had pet insurance for our other cat who stayed healthy til the day he wandered off (:(( and the bloomin' insurance wouldn't pay out then (gits)

No pet insurance for Dolly but I am contemplating it...I meant £4 a month isn't too much to ask is it,

  • I'm so sorry to hear about your cat - but as others have said, he can't be too bad if it's a possibility for him to come home today.

I have 2 dogs and I wouldn't dream of not having insurance. It's such a huge risk without, as vets bills can be so enormous. Definitely worth asking your vet if he'll bill the insurance company direct. I know of others who have done this.

    Thinking of you.

The vet has just rung. They are keeping him in over night to monitor him. They haven't been able to x ray his leg yet but will do it tomorrow, probably under sedation. She said he is comfortable and they are going to offer him some food now. Will update tomorrow.

Poor !!!!! cat. Hope he is OK tomorrow when he gets xrayed.
In our vet, they ask if you have insurance and if so they add the cost of the excess to your claim, so effectively the treatment is fully paid for by the insurers. I have overheard them doing it with others.
  • aww moxie sorry to her about moxie... mine went to the vet yesterday too... i hope he/she recovers soon and you have them back with you hug.gif blessing to you and your lovely cat

We had a cat killed in front of our house about 10feet away from DH.A wful. Anyway Moxie get well SOON.xxxx
Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.

And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

What a helpful vet! I'll certainly give it a try.

  • So sorry to hear about your beastie. We have 8, all insured with Direct Line, and they've always either reimbursed us within 10 days (minus the excess) or dealt directly with the vet. I can't fault them, to be honest - we think they're excellent.
