Yes he's been fine today. I've been at home all day with him, so don't know if that made a difference, or if he's just getting used to being in the cage.

  • just read about your cat i have two sophie and lucy, they both send their luv to moxie and wish him a speedy recovery. we lost a cat once many years ago who was knocked over and he was outside the cat flap amazingly he had made his way home but never made the last few steps we got him from a cat home so he had a good life while he was with us.

Cats are so intelligent and i am sure moxie will pull through. We also have a labrador dog and our cats have never really taken to him but they all avoid each other and we have a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs they suss out where he is and make dash for the stairgate he now just looks at them and cant figure out why they dont want to play with him although he is 10 times the size of them im sure they wind him up and them jump through the stairgate knowing he cant follow them.

 :kisses3: from sophie and lucy

    hope moxie is better soon

Just to give a quick update. I took Moxie to the vet yesterday for a check up. He's doing really well, but he's got to stay in the cage for at least another week! Then he can come out, but not go outside. I have to take him back to the vet in a month and then if all is well, he can go out again. One annoying thing, I asked the vet nurse if my claim form has been sent off to Direct Line yet (knowing that they have a massive backlog) and she said no because the woman who does the forms is off this week and no-one else can do them!

Yes he is going crazy today! I feel so sorry for him, how do you tell a cat it's in his best interest that I am making him live in a cage!

  • I'm so glad he's on the mend.

When he gets out of the cage he will be so happy he will feel unrestricted. Please consider not letting him outdoors any more. By the time he is fully fit he will have been through an adjustment period of sorts by being caged then kept indoors.

If he's been hit by a car once - it could happen again.

I certainly will be locking him in at night. I fact I've just bought a new cat flap (from ebay so as MSE as I could) which locks, as my current one is broken.

  • Oh I'm so sorry to hear about this. I completely understand what you mean, this is an unavoidable cost.

Thank goodness you were insured though, at least you've saved yourself £145 there!

I hope Moxie is well very soon!

The latest news. I went to my parents for lunch today. My dad paid the vet's bill for me, it was £422 in total, which I am claiming back from Direct Line to give to my dad when I get it. (He offered and it seemed easier than paying by installments). My dad has just told me that if I give up smoking he will give me the cheque from the insurance company when it comes! So I have about 6-8 weeks to stop!

Now THAT'S worth stopping smoking for!!

I'm so glad Moxie is on the mend, we lost 3 cats to RTA's it, one was only 10 months old.

My mother had to cage care 2 of her cats, both had broken pelvis's, it was terribly hard work!

    Love to Moxie!
