I haven't disputed this for a single second, no one here has. We already know that the price that is paid is one that market forces determine, one that is agreeable to both the company and the customer.
It doesn't stop a company advertising a product at a price that a customer would not buy it at, and it certainly is not illegal to sell an item for a price higher than a customer would pay. This has been what dfh has been going on about since page 2, it was as wrong then as it is nearly 200 posts later.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
We would then have companies sell a can of pepsi for 1000000000 , a tub of ice cream for 10000000 .
Which goes to show that the statement that companies can charge whatever they want is simply not true.
I have in my very possession right now a can of pepsi for sale at an amazing price of £100bn and a tub of icecream, a snip at £10bn. Want to buy them?Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
Which is why I am yet to see pc world sell a ordinary computer for 1000000000 in any of their stores.
Which goes to show that companies cannot charge whatever they want willy nilly.
Well they can charge a price ten times that it would cost at other places. Fortunately they have morons like you buying them at these over-priced levels to keep them in business.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

I do believe dfh has 2 brain cells. One got lost, the other is out looking for him. 2Sides' brain also appears to be on vacation.

You're absolutely right. No one would pay such ridiculous prices, but they would be allowed to advertise them at these prices, no one can stop them.
Harvey Nichols sell handbags at £2500, they're probably worth about £50 in materials. How do you think they get away with that ?
I'll tell you shall i ? THEY CAN CHARGE WHATEVER THEY LIKE. NO-ONE CAN STOP THEM. It's called running a business and making a profit.
Please tell me which bit you don't understand ?0 -
Evidently all of it Meer53. A sheep would know more about business than this doughnut by reading this thread.Thinking critically since 1996....0
