I plan to live forever - so far so good.

Although dealing with the children in this thread has taken off about 5 years.

Ah but....There can be only one!
  • Great, we all agree then. We knew you'd come around eventually.

  • @dhf2012 - Are you saying that if I wanted to offer Heinz £500 for one of their tins of beans, the law wouldn't allow me to?

The crux of the matter is that companies cannot charge whatever they want willy Nilly. So if someone does charge 100000 for a tin of beans , people like me will protest while people who believe that they can charge whatever they want will pay those ridiculous prices to defend these companies.

You been away cleaning your windows?

And if you are going to argue, could you please stick to your pov. First it was against the law, now you seem to be saying you just won't pay inflated prices - the very point people have been trying to get across to you.
  • So then, about Leeds Bradford Airport's misleading business practice which leads visitors into car park beans transactions which they would not otherwise have entered into ... are we agreed that looks unlawful via a combination of simple misleading (between the no escape kerbs), of omission (i.e. failure to ensure that the no-escape nature of the no escape kerbs and the charge that immediately follows is well understood before you sucked in), or of aggression (by undue influence by the use of no-escape kerbs and by misleading practice and by ommission as aforesaid) all employed as a commercial practice?

I will believe that companies can charge whatever they want when I see a loaf of bread priced at 1000000.

Until then the statement that companies can charge whatever they want does not hold true.
I bet you buy Apple products don't you.

Ah ... there you do have a point :p It was about 3 years ago when iPhone 3 first really took off ... and shortly afterwards this airport drop off=chargeable beans nonsense started.

PS dfh, steady with those noughts, you'll tempt the detractors to compare expensive Apples with Oranges next - whereas beans are universal currency.
  • The fact that they charge twice as much (if not more) than the equivalent PC/blackberry means actually you are wrong. They can charge what they like and they manage to get buyers at their premium price point.

But don't let reality inform your stupid opinion.
