Due to posters not actually reading what was written - for asking the same questions 50x over even though they were replied to - for talking out their backsides with the likes of

'Unusual for a local bus route to use motorways as well' (yes truly this was written)

I have deleted my asking for help as it was and still is clear ,that most posters in here did not want to offer helpful advice on what is happening now , they just wanted to criticize ,judge and type up silly thoughts that had no meaning at all (see above about buses on motorways) plus comment for the sake of commenting . I had no idea so many people could not read .

Thank you to the posters that did offer advice ,and passed on links and numbers of help that are relevant to my problems today . I hope you enjoy the rest of your evening .

Oh and p.s I still have my TV and my first born child , but I'm contemplating putting my toaster on ebay , I need a pair of running shoes for future 45 minute walks on motorways .

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

Why on earth did you leave your job early every day?? Yes, yes, I know Working Links told you to collect your expense - but surely to goodness, you knew this was going down like a lead balloon! Why risk paid employment for a few quid? In respect of your complaint, I would write a formal letter of complaint to Working Links.

Not that it's any of your business - but how on earth was I to afford paying £4.00 every day ,when I had no money coming in whatsoever ? and exactly how did ' I ' risk my employment ? £4 may not be much to some ,but paying that 5 days a week would have crippled my family and I could not afford to put out any more expenses than I already had .

Please keep your opinions and judgments to yourself ,I have enough on my plate without having to defend myself to another unknown person .
  • Hi , Lin.

CAB I knew about and I'm now ready to contact them with relevant evidence . The other link I did not know about ,so thank you for that . I will read through that today . Again thank you .

It may not sound like a very sensible thing to do to anybody who does have a few spare pounds in their pocket, but It's quite possible that the OP had no spare money he could use for fares & stuff, so needed to collect cash each day to enable him to go to work next day. How do we know how far WL was from his workplace & if he would need to pay extra fares to travel there & back should he have decided to try to go during lunch break? Doubt WL would have been willing to refund those travel costs.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
  • Spot on - the OP should have come to some arrangement with WL to collect his payments at a more convenient time, such as in the morning, or on lunch break.

OP, those in full time work have to arrange their lives around their employment. If you had needed to go to the bank, or the hairdressers, you would not have skipped off early, would you?

Ok - I started at 8am , I got 15 minutes for my lunch at 1:30pm . and 1 15min break at 11am . I asked working links everyday to give me an alternative arrangement ,but they told me this was the way it was to be . I shall let you be the one to break my day up and arrange all relevant times to best suit .
It seems you are all reading 1 line and sticking out fingers . I asked for advice ,not lectures or your opinions . Honestly ,having to explain myself to you posters is tiring already .

That's the very thing right there ,my job was 30 minutes bus travel away from me . From my work place , working links was 45 minutes away . It was at the other side of the city ,and I was told from day one that ,that was my office . I could not afford to eat in work , and was only able to pack my own lunches on the first 3 days of employment . After that there was no spare money at all that I could have used . But I ate when I came home ,so I could go without no problem .
  • i also cannot believe you left work early every day to pick up your expenses!
or that when working links subsequently wrote to you and told you to make an appointment you refused and think because you refused you shouldnt be sanctioned. you should have made the appointment when asked and turned up and it wouldnt have happened!
anyone with a bit of a will to work and an ounce of common sense would have got onto either working links of the dwp right at the start of the employment and sorted out the months or even weekly bus pass pointing out collecting expenses daily wasnt feasible due to your shifts.
its so easy to make everything sound so impossible when you just dont want it to work out. you shouldnt expect to be spoon fed.
  • Almost as tiring as planning out your working week, eh?

The fact is that you needed to find a way to cover the £20 travel expense without leaving work early every day. There are many ways you could have done this - short term overdraft, ebay a few things, ask a friend. If you really could not find anything else, the interest on a payday loan for such a short period would have been minimal. You chose not to take these options, and hence jeopardised your employment.

Ok so - ebay would have taken too long ,please do not try to tell me I would have money right away . This doesn't work .

Short term overdraft - denied an overdraft months before hand when employed for 4 years before made redundant .

Payday loan - Due to when I joined the work force ,I missed the cut off period , so would have to wait 8 weeks till I got paid . Payday loans would also have meant going to visit them on working days , If I did manage to get down to them on the saturday I was off and if they were open ,how would I have paid them back ? I also would have needed 3 pay slips and a bank statement to qualify .

    Just wow !!

Ok so me not having wrote every single little detail down has now put me in front of the firing squad .

I fought tooth and nail with WL and DWP from day one , DWP told me I was no longer their concern . WL wanted me to collect my money every day ,I have no reason why ,this was just the way they planned it out . But I did fight ,and I got nowhere everyday .

Spoon fed ? You have no idea what my family went through at that time ,do not talk about what you do not know about .

My appointment that I refused ? I did not refuse an appointment ,you obviously did not read this well ,I was 'ASKED' to make an appointment ,and told them I would - in another office . Dont read between the lines ,and don't assume things about me .
