Do not know if anyone has been prosecuted. o know the name of the store where 4 purchases have been made with 1 week between each 2. The store is at least 30 miles away from us. How can anyone use your card without your 3 numbers on the back? If internet wouldn't it say so? The repayment had the same store named as repaying the amounts. Thanks for your help and information given. Mush appreciated.

    Hi,

Why do you need to know as long as your mum got all her money back. That is the main thing.

Now the money is refunded it is a matter for the bank. It is no longer any of your or your mums business.

Hi, I have a quick question. I have Barclays travel insurance through the additions thingy. Do I need to ring Barclays every time I go away to let them know when I am going to be away and where i'm going etc. I have in the past but wasn't sure if it was actually required.
    Thanks.

  • Because she is afraid to use it wondering where people got her information from. Her private information used not the banks.

No problem, the site says you dont have to but I always have. Suppose I will give them a ring and let them know just to be sure.
  • frang,

Always call your bank when you're going abroad, otherwise they may block your card if you use it abroad - thinking it aint you.

PPI - Never buy bank PPI (Barclays, this example is for), it's a complete waste of money and you can get most PPI's from home insurance, income protection etc. People who try to claim on PPI have to wait 30 days then call Dublin, then get a claim form, then fill in, then get ex-employer and job centre or if sick doctor then send back and then wait for Dublin to get around to paying (which is done on a pro-rata basis , not monthly installments) and then you have to do the same thing the next month and so on - IT ISN'T WORTH IT!
  • PPI will be changing this year. There will ve more specific questions asked. So in theory it will be cheaper and more appropriate.

Not sure about the claim process though ;)

  • Hi Barclay bird.

I know you have already talked about this but just want to clarify. I have a graduate loan which I am paying off a set amount each month. If I increase my payments or make extra payments, will I have to pay a penalty when the loan term ends earlier than it should have done. What about if I pay the total in a lump sum, would there be a penalty for this?
  • Currently if you pay in nothing happens, apart from it is repaid quicker and less interest is calculated. That is a loop hole. I can't promise it wont be closed at some point :(
