just to add to that great fact of a statement is that the toc always tricks you into dropping yourself in it and giving them the -intent- they require for a court case.

if questioned by a revenue type person just give them your name and address nothing else thats all they can ask by law. when they send you the letter that your off to court and -whats your side of the story- send it back with an excuse but dont admit anything. they only do people who make it ease and cheap by admitting intent.

100% agree mate! Glad you stumbled on this post or I would have given up days ago. These TOC employees make me sick it wouldn't surprise me if they are paid to post this stuff on forum posts to deter people from skipping. Imagine if everybody in the country for one day just decided to skip the train in protest at the fares we pay which are 10 times higher than some European countries and effectively price the little man out of travelling around our great country.

I have only ever heard of a handful of cases where someone has been prosecuted and that is because they are dumb enough to admit fare evasion as long as you stick to your story the burden of proof is on them. just always carry an emergency 20-25 pounds with a good lie and you are laughing all the way to the bank.

the guy i spoke to literally said if you pay the £20 you don't have to give your name and address you only have to if you don't have the £20 on you. But yea if you do get a total jobs worth give your real name and address and stick to your story and you will receive the fine in the post they will not prosecute unless you are silly enough to directly admit to fare evasion.

I am not even saying that i will always skip the train or that i will skip the train as i am an honest person.

A new definition of honest is on the horizon.

Further evidence that both of these users maybe one and the same is that they both have an inability to distinguish there difference between there and their/You're and your but then I think trolls originally come from Norway so may not be fully bilingual
