    Yes, I never see the real picture. I'm one of these fantasists who believe that, if you travel by train, you pay the fare, or that 2000 pennies aren't legal tender.

    I wonder if it would be legal for him to detain you while he counted those 2000 pennies, checked them several times found them 2p short and then reported you for refusing to pay?

    In any case I doubt if you would be able to carry them that easily

    However, skipping the train is not stealing as long as you are prepared to pay the penalty.

    Dose this only apply to trains? Can I use this defence when shoplifting?
